If he needs it, the sooner the better. Time to move out some players, get some picks and season some youngsters.

Well. At least he gave his knees for this sad franchise. All for chasing the 8th seed and getting embarrassed by the Bucks.
Good night sweet prince

Remember when Dwane Casey said his knee couldn't get worse when he decided to play him in the playoffs. I think he should of been shut down then and should of got surgery in the off-season. I think for the team and for Blake it will be best for him to get this surgery. He can hopefully come back next season healthy and the Pistons can spend all the rest of the season developing our young players like Sekou all while probably being bad enough to get a top draft pick.

Yeah I can’t help but feel like the Pistons brought this about.
This is probably why they’re being so careful with Rose’s minutes.
It was a flipping miracle Blake played as many games as he did last year and was able to shoulder as much as he did, but that’s clearly and fully caught up with us. Damn shame, too.

Yep, he's not helping the team anyway. Makes a lot of sense.

This is good for everyone. It allows us to tank and gives Griffin a loooong time to heal up 100% for next season where hopefully he can rebuild his value.

Do it and come back healthy next season. This is probably where the Gores change of heart has come from all along.
Sell Rose, Dre, Kieff and tank out the ROS. Just too bad it's a crummy class - just our luck of course.

I"d trade Rose to whichever contender he wants, if he wants.
But I'd love to keep him around to show the rest of the team how they should play, work, behave...etc.

Well I would have stopped before "behave"...

Should've done that last season instead of playing during the playoffs.

I'll go Tonya Harding on him if it will help cement the decision

Yeah...
A role model he is not.

Season-ending surgery is the best news I've heard about Blake all year. I'm actually not being sarcastic. It means that there's still at least some hope that what ails him is correctable.
This is really good in 2 big ways:
1. It solidifies the tank (although Blake playing might have been just as bad there)
2. It adds possible finality to Blake's current situation and allows the possibility for teams to seriously reconsider Blake's value again.
Blake coming back and playing well after having a procedure done looks WAY better than him just resting for a few weeks and then coming back and playing well.
I'm not saying that I would trust him to stay healthy either way, but maybe some team would?

Hes finished and is going to opt in for that final year for the 38million that hes never going to make on the open market.

If his play and mobility doesn't improve from this season he should be coming off the bench.

Blake was hurt before the All Star break last year and yet the medical staff let him play. Fast forward to the playoffs and he’s even worse and they throw him out there in a decided series. Our medical staff should be ashamed.

Pray it doesn't turn out that there was any unethical stuff going on there. It is possible that it was medically justified to let him play, we really don't know all of the facts.
But IF what you suggest is true then it's not only ethically really bad but will hurt us with potential players in the future.
