I tend to value peak over total body of work, so for me it’s Dennis.

Worm was the best to watch - it was an art with him. Ben was more force.

Era/style of play has to be a crucial determining factor here.

In this current stretch the floor era the bigs (usually the better rebounders on a team) are being pulled further from the paint more and more on both ends of the floor. However, Andre isn't the type to get too far from the paint. In addition, these days rebounding isn't nearly as big of a point of emphasis as it used to be, and as a result there are less skilled rebounders leaguewide as there were in the prior eras. These factors help contribute to Drummond's inflated rebounding stats.

We also need to take into account pace/shot attempts in each era. Of the candidates mentioned, Ben Wallace's era far and away had the slowest pace and least shot attempts. These of course lead to less rebounding opportunities.

All of this, leads me to the conclusion that Ben Wallace is the Pistons greatest rebounder of all time.

I'll go with 6'7" Ben Wallace over the rest if I really need a board.

All these guys worked their asses off and were major pieces on championship teams. Drummond doesn’t deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence as them, regardless of his rebounding numbers. The game is so different now. More outside shots equals more missed shots which equals more opportunities to rebound the ball. Plus the game was so much more physical back then, making rebounding a greater challenge. Drummond is physically a freak so his numbers don’t impress me at all. Put him in the bad boys or ben’s era and he’d get pushed around like a rag doll.

I think Ben defined true grit while also being a fantastic rebounder.

Barely 6'7 and guarding true bigs of the world were unheard of. He's a forerunner to the tough small ball centers we have today really.

Worm. Highest peak, biggest total, and the best battler for a rebound I've ever seen. He had non-stop bounce.

Ben gets second place, Drummond third, Laimbeer fourth. Although there's a guy by the name of Bob Lanier who's wondering where his name is.

^thought about Lanier but figured we'd keep it from Bad Boys era and on.

If we're including time spent outside of the Pistons then you have to give it to Rodman and there's really no debate left.

Lanier played at a time when teams played faster and missed a higher portion of their shots. If you look at TRB%, he's not in the conversation despite the high number of rebounds.

Actually, if you're going by TRB%, this is a 2 man debate between Rodman and Drummond. Ben is a bit below and Laimbeer is a ways below that.

Watching that Ben Wallace video just made me sad as ****. Can’t believe it was that long ago. We won it around the time my daughter was born, now she’s in high school. Not sure we will ever have a team as good as that one again. I remember the bad boys teams too. What the hell happened to our Pistons?

We won it all when I graduated from high school, and now I'm nearing my mid 30s and have been in the same job for almost a decade. I was finishing college the last time we had a legitimately good team. Time flies.

On body of work it has to be Rodman. Guy was an absolute freak both as an athlete and in terms of rebounding instincts.

It sure does bro. I remember getting bored with our team that went to all those ECF’s in a row. Now we can’t win a playoff game. Worst part is, nothing on our team looks promising for the future. Maybe Sekou, but still to early to tell either way there.

I want a rebuild at this point. A real one. Maybe Gores needs to sell the team. Because it’s not working with him.

I fairness, towards the tail end of that run, we WERE making decisions that lead to our eventual decline. Our FO got complacent and so did the players.

I try not to get overly nostalgic, but yeah, the mid-late 00s were a special time, if one fated to end. We made 6 ECF in a row between 2003 and 2008. By the end of this year, the period of suckage will be twice that long. That's so freaking sad.

I really want a rebuild desperately, as I've stated numerous times what we get for our veterans is almost secondary to me at this point. I want them all moved.

You know Dre is going to get traded, and we're not going to get a very good package for him, and then he is going to go on a terror and be really motivated to perform for his new team.
