If we stand pat, how good can we be in 2020-21?

Assuming Dre opts in or is extended and shakes his funk, Blake comes back relatively healthy, another year of development for Sekou, Kennard, Brown and Svi, and a mid-lotto pick...not an unrealistic scenario.

Assuming Blake comes back relatively healthy?

Why should we entertain any hypotheticals that assume that?

I think .500 would be the ceiling, to be honest. Relatively healthy for Blake still isn’t 2018-19 level at this point, and I think Sekou won’t be ready to make a big impact in the W/L column yet next year.

Not with everyone healthy, no way no how. Booya would start at the 3.

The team could not compete for a title but healthy, everyone;

Jackson/Rose
Kennard/Brown
Sekou/Snell
Blake/Sekou
Andre/Woods

That is a damn good team. With that said, none of that is possible in terms if health so its utterly irrelevant, and Andre, and a slew of other players will be gone soon so it matters even less.

I don’t want Blake to stunt Sekou’s growth. The team needs to be built around him from now. Blake will get in the way of that.

I don’t see any way we resign Reggie even if we bring Dre back.

Yeah my bad. This team is in such flux, it's been hard keeping track of all the players and their contracts.

All I care about at the moment is sekou.

That would be my guess.

Another embarrassing sweep by the Bucks? I'm tired of being the 1st seed's off day playoff team to match with.

Others have covered it. I'll just add that I don't believe there is a relatively healthy for Blake anymore. Injury is an inevitably for him and he's done being an all star imo.

If the Pistons stand pat, I might need to take a year or two off from watching the team.

Sadly, I see this as the most likely outcome outside of letting Jackson walk. Drummond is opting in, might as well come to terms with that. Rose isn't going anywhere and Blake "should" be back to reasonable health. Welcome back to Mediocretown.

Could he evolve into a poor man's Bird? Okay, a poverty stricken man's Bird? He's an excellent passer, he worked his ass off on his shooting range, and can do some iso damage. I'm not sure he hurts Sekou.

5-10 more wins if Casey is replaced with a puppy

Honestly?

After watching this week, I retract what I said. No way this team gets to .500 again under any circumstances. Rarely has a post of mine aged so poorly so quickly.

Detroit fans deserve better. Too many shortsighted moves.
