Jalen Rose wants to become a minority owner of the Detroit Pistons. And he hopes it happens soon.

Rose, a Detroit native and former Michigan Fab Five great, has “broached” the idea with Pistons owner Tom Gores and would like to buy a stake in the franchise he grew up idolizing.

“Twenty years? If it were up to me, it would be 20 minutes,” Rose said in a phone interview Tuesday. “I’m planting seeds and trying to see if it can happen sooner rather than later.

“That’s a conversation I’ve broached with Mr. Gores, and it’s something we’ll continue to talk about. I’m not at liberty to say what he’s told me personally, but it’s something I’m definitely working toward.”...
