I'd rather he had a Rodman mentality.

Drummond doesn’t have the talent for a true mamba mentality.

After the end of his career, sure.

Drummond + prime player Rodman mentality = Bill Russell

Heck, I should'e just skipped straight to the Lord of the Rings.

Andre Drummond is a fine reminder that superior physical prowess is a prerequisite to be an elite player, but hardly a guarantee. You still need desire, basketball intellect, and a body that can hold up to be an all-time great player, and he clearly only has that last one.

Of course, he's also a reminder that you don't need ALL of those things to put up numbers on mediocre teams.

Drummond at his best is a poor man's Deandre Jordan. A guy that can't shoot, handle the ball, or play game-changing defense is not going to will his team to any wins. He is what he is and might be a decent contributor as the 5th best starter on a championship contender, but that's really it. He would flourish in the role that Javale McGee had a few years back, but can never be Draymond. Add to that years of mediocrity on a team with a losing culture and you have a guy that plays to pad his stats in order to get the heftiest contract he can.

Alonzo Mourning was my comparison. If he had that heart and drive. But he doesn't. I don't care how the nba game has changed, Zo would still be wanted all the way around.
