We should pick up Dragan Bender

Post#1 » by Han Solo » Sat Feb 8, 2020 5:45 pm

Just waived by the Bucks. I know he hasn’t shown much, but these are the types of acquisitions we need to look at. Buy Reggie out and pick up this young PF/C. Trading Drummond has left a little thin. Hopefully management jumps in on this.

We're not really thin - Chris Wood, John Henson, Thon Maker, Markieff Morris and Sekou Doumbouya, mind you Dragan is listed at 250lbs on the G-League site so he would offer some heft we don't have outside of Morris basically. Bender is basically a rich man's Ellenson at this point isn't he? Can we claim him with part of the Blake Griffin DPE so we'd get his non-guaranteed next year deal if we wanted it?

Claim bender, cut Henson. Bender has a favorable contract for what WE SHOULD be doing, and I’m pretty sure Henson’s an expiring contract. Also I think we should put a claim on bender regardless of who gets cut. If we truly are rebuilding this offseason, then a 22 year old with a $1.8 million unguaranteed makes too much sense
