We've been rising up the ranks the past couple weeks with an impressive run and that should only continue as we have the second highest remaining SOS in the NBA behind only Memphis. I honestly think the #2 spot is in range.
New York's tank has been sputtering recently. They won 4 in a row before getting back on track with a couple big Ls against Atlanta and Washington.
We've gained two games on the Hawks in the last 10 and they have a cupcake schedule the rest of the way.
Our schedule is considerably harder than Cleveland's and now they've got Drummond. As we know, he doesn't bring a lot of wins to the table, but he does bring some.
As long as KAT and D-Lo are playing, Minny should be able to pull out more games than us.
The Bulls seem to be out in full force. They've lost 6 games in a row. Still, we're ahead of them with the harder remaining schedule.
Hornets tank was going well. They even beefed it up with some buyouts. However, they've found themselves on a two game winning streak.
Wizards have taken themselves out with strong recent play.

I still think we finish above Charlotte.
The Bulls tank looks strong with a fairly tough remaining schedule.
At the moment I’d be surprised if anyone else ahead of us is in play besides those 2, making the 8 spot our apparent floor, or ceiling depending on your perspective.
I think the 5 spot is an outside possibility. Don’t see us lower/higher than that.
That’s 5-8 as our range to me.

You guys haven't looked at our March schedule. LOL. Even with everyone back I doubt we win 5 more games. 3 wins in March would be a reach i think.

When you're bad, you might as well full speed ahead so I like this tracker.
But man, the Warriors are horrendous. DLO secretly was a good tank commander for them. I think if we solidify the 5th place, we're looking pretty good in the lotto and I like our chances of outright winning it.

Another benefit of this losing trend is that we kept a lot of vets and continue to lose, which may help convince Gores to stay on the rebuild track until we have a solid young core in place. If we'd found buyers for Rose, Morris, Galloway, Jackson and Snell the youngsters would have been blamed for the decline, encouraging the thinking that we're close and just need a couple overpriced vets.
It's nice to have a race to cheer for again - I'm hoping for a fourth place finish!

I think the warriors, hawks and cavs are just too far ahead of us to catch.
The Timberwolves are interesting to me because they started the year 10-8 but then had a free fall where they went 5-24 in December and January and had two 10+ game losing streaks in that time. Maybe with the roster shake up they’ll play closer to .500 ball than sub-.200 ball?
The Knicks have been pretty consistent, but hopefully they can string together a couple more short win streaks like they recently had.
We play the Timberwolves once more and the Knicks twice more, losing all those games would go a long way to us moving into the 4th slot for the lottery. With the current lottery format that gives us the same virtually the same odds (14% to 12.5%) to get the first overall pick as the top 3 seeds so it would be as successful a tank as we could hope for.

It'd be a shame if the Pistons can't beat the Timberwolves before the end of the season.

Twolves lost to the Hornets, but KAT didnt play. Wolves would have won if KAT played, they were ahead and had an epic collapse.
Pistons need to get King out there more. He has a chance to be a Svi type guy who can shoot, put the ball on the floor a little, and has a long of length. Maybe he is faster than Svi and can play a little better defense - although he is Thon thin.
Anyways, Tank is on!

Detroit missed on Luka and Zion and now goes full tank mode on a weak draft class. Love it.

You already know this team is guaranteed a top 3 pick simply due to the fact that this is one of the worst drafts in the past 10ish years.

It’s still better than never tanking. Previous years are spilled milk.

We got a top 3 pick in one of the best drafts of all time and what we got out of it exactly?
