Snell for TPE?

Hey there Pistons fans.

Curious to get your viewpoint on Tony Snell's role with the team. The Warriors have a TPE from their Iguadala trade, and have the ability to take on a contract. Assuming Snell opts in for next year, would you trade him for a 2nd rounder and some salary relief?

Ha, well I think there is a player fit, just a question on whether Lacob is willing to pay 20M (including tax) for Snell.

No. Basically 0 chance of that. We aren't giving up picks to dump salary. We already have a ton of cap space, and frankly, the only way we are going to be able to constructively use it is to take back contracts and picks from other teams.

I definitely would.

I think the proposed trade has us receiving a second rounder.

Oh, then sure. Of course, nobody is giving us draft picks and taking on Snell though. We got a pick for taking on his contract the first time.

Would probably be one of the late 2nd rounders from Philly or Mavs, but that is what I was proposing. Will depend on what happens with other moves, but the dubs could really use a 3&D threat off the bench.

the only thing that would make me think the pistons might decline that trade is how thin we are on the wings. other than that though, i'm sure the pistons would love more cap space.

Get out of Snell’s option year? Sure. No need to send a pick, but we’ll take it.

We’re gonna stink next year unless something weird happens. No need for decent overpaid role players.

I would keep an eye on Ilyasova and Porter if Bulls or Bucks wants to get rid of them. A pick in exchange of absorbing their contracts would would be nice.

Yep I think we do this. Getting a 2nd for Snell would be a good move. He hasn't exactly lit it up for us this year, he's exactly just average at everything at best.

I'd do this trade in a heartbeat. If Snell's part of our future, I submit that our future is fu... oh wait, never mind. It's already that way regardless of Snell.
