I think this was a foregone conclusion even before all of this virus mess started. There really wasn't any indication any team would be making an offer anywhere close to what he is slated to make in his PO. He was always going to opt in.

Paying Drummond nearly 30 million for his services sounds insane to me. Even more insane are the Cavs actually trading for him to do so. They must really like him for some reason.

Good to know we're paying all our employees despite no games:

The suspension of play in the NBA will have major financial implications, but the Detroit Pistons will try to soften the blow for their employees and staff members at Little Caesars Arena.

All Pistons employees, including hourly and part-time staff who support gameday activities at LCA, will be paid during the league's hiatus, a team spokesperson said Thursday.

The organization will also reach out to other companies that employ staff at the arena, and are hopeful of providing financial assistance to them as well.

At the end of the day, it's not about wins and losses. Teamwork, fair play, and good sportsmanship make champions of us all.

Go arbitrary assortment of athletes! Beat the other arbitrary assortment of athletes or my mood will suffer!

Yeah, imagine if the cap drops 15%. Or more? 20% drop.

Can't see how that would impact his free agency.

He'll need extensive pulmonary testing afterwords.

The margins between the best and worst NBA Players are razor thin, and Corona has been show to cause a loss of lung function. Even a 5% drop in lung capacity could be the equivalent of aging the player years.

There are reports of possible long term respiratory damage from the virus, but the data is pretty limited thus far.

I’m sure he’ll be fine if he’s able to pass a physical. No doubt he’ll have to prove his respiratory system is okay.
