OT: Today is the last day to register to vote in Michigan!

Post#1 » by ratul » Mon Oct 19, 2020 8:32 pm

Hey folks, thought I would mention that today is the last day to register to vote in Michigan! Michigan is a tight race and early numbers are tight for the US presidential and senate election. Please spread the word and get out the vote! Apologies mods if this is off-topic - feel free to move or lock if need be :D

Michigan: Monday, October 19th, mail, online or in-person

You can also register IN-PERSON ONLY on November 3rd but obviously, this means you can't do an early vote. Thanks!

Yessir! I also play guitar but bassist and keyboardist quit so now we are a 3 piece. We just finished recording our second album to be released in the spring. I played guitar on both albums. Playing 3 shows in the next 2 weeks with the last being the Tampa Bay Metal festival Nov. 7th. Band name is Haunted.

Sorry for the late reply. If you want to check out brutal and very fast death metal with an epic symphonic element, check it out here. Got a show tonight in south Tampa. Anyways, we got another Keyboardist and Lead Guitarist again. So, back to 5 piece. Ready to slay audiences.

FYI. We will be touring Europe around February 2022 starting in Switzerland hitting a few countries. Fortunately, now that I work for Siemens, I enjoy lots of paid time off.

Nice! Maybe I'll be able to check out a show. I haven't been to Europe since 2018 due to budget cuts in 2019 then obviously COVID this year. I listened to a number of the songs and while I admit that it's not really my speed I do appreciate good music of most rock genres. I'm just more a fan of speed punk/thrash than speed metal.

I believe he's a criminal, which certainly doesn't mean he's much different than a lot of career politicians. The media just won't report on the latest news alluding to it until they have to. If someone had only said that they overhead a guy in grocery store say that his cousin's neighbor knew a guy whose ex-wife's daughter said that her friend worked at a computer shop where a laptop that Trump had used once had the stuff on it that Hunter Biden's laptop allegedly has on it, the media would be going bonkers reporting it right now.

It is a fun hobby by us Middle Aged folk bringing back music we did as teenagers, lol. With modern technology, we can do great things. Anyways, I dig playing technical music that is fast as all hell and is a bit of a challenge. Makes it fun to play.

No love for Kanye? He did score 106 points in a basketball game once, which I doubt Trump and Biden would ever do. :)

Biden releases his tax forms, and doesn't live extraordinarily by any stretch. So if he's a criminal - for what? Where is the money supposedly going? He ran against McCain and Romney oppo machines - if they would have found anything you don't think they would have hit on it? So he decided to go to a life of crime as a 73 yr old former Vice President when he could now get seven figure book deals and paid $100K for speaking engagements?

You don't think he had his hands in on his son making 50 thousand dollars a month with no experience for a Ukraine company?

Mind you as vice president he was in charge of China and Ukraine. Now we got his sons laptop with all the emails saying here's the big guys cut and a witness who was in on it coming out and confirming it.

The media is such a organized load of garbage ran by the Democrats at a insane level. If this was Trump, holy hell!!!!!

As a complete outsider - Aussie here - what's the story with your media?

Not going to get into conspiracy theories or things of that nature but I'm led to believe from things I watch or hear that your news media presents a certain POV depending on what station you're watching.

Some are far right, some are far left apparently idk cause not there to see it.

Surely there are some stations or sites or papers or other mediums that actually present both sides of the argument?

Or is it really that bad AND that obvious to you all that it's just accepted by the silent smarter majority that the media is skewed?

I'm with John McCain https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-trump-mccain/suppressing-free-press-is-how-dictators-get-started-senator-mccain-idUSKBN15Y07R

If you want to preserve - I’m very serious now - if you want to preserve democracy as we know it, you have to have a free and many times adversarial press. And without it, I am afraid that we would lose so much of our individual liberties over time. That’s how dictators get started

Not releasing your tax returns isn't a crime. Well, unless you're an idiot that plays the "Obviously he's hiding SOMETHING, so he must be committing a crime" game. Baloney. That's called creating smoke so you can say there's a fire. If Trump was cheating on his taxes don't you think the IRS would have found out first and charged him? Of course they would have. For a party that says a Democratic president getting a blow job in the White House is nobody's business but his, they sure seem to think they have a right to see the tax returns of a Republican president. None of which matters a bit to me--I vote on results delivered while in office, not emotions.

Biden has been in the federal government for 47 years. That's too long. I believe he's had his hand in the cookie jar and has used his position to enrich himself and his family. That's enough right there to not get my vote, plus I don't support big government policy anyway. In my opinion the less control the government has over things that affect my life directly, the better. And that's all I got to say about that.
