It’s a good deal for the Pistons. I think this deal has to be a move with eyes to trading up to the top 3. The question is what will the Pistons give up to make it happen.

I legitimately doubt that. We’re ripping this thing down to the studs and Weaver has a guy or two he wants in the mid 1st round.

But what’s also important is Boston offering 14/26/30 has got to be officially dead.

Ariza is only partially guaranteed for 1.8 million. Weaver looks pretty good on this deal.

I don't think it's a play to move up. I mean, it could be, but that's great value even if you're just staying at 16, so I defer to the simplest explanation.

I do like that there's zero chance of it converting to a better pick in the next 4 years.

It's a **** deal for us to absorb that contract like that we could have used that cap space better. Another Snell type situation IMO.

To also give up a future first... he better hit the guy he really likes at 16 and not use it to move up two spots to get freaking Patrick Williams.

Also, we sold our future second rounder to Houston for $4.2 million as part of this deal.
