If Stewart's working on his game to be a PF, as this suggests, Sekou will be practicing against him and Grant. Time to step up!

I used to get excited about seeing these types of things but with so many players becoming a bust, or not living up to potential, im done with hype.

Believe it when I see it. As of right now, Stewart will be out of the league in 4 years, Hayes is the new Brandon Knight, and Bey will dominate the g-league.

So who's going to be available at #8 next year?

He won't bust to the point he's out of the league in 4 years cause hes a pretty safe pick to a degree but we'll have to see what his ceiling becomes at the next level over the next 4 years.

You always take these videos with a boulder of salt, but after watching it, I was encouraged by a few things including his shooting touch, lateral agility while defending on the perimeter, and the way he put the ball on the floor and attacked the hoop. What did surprise me a little bit is that he looked more explosive getting off the floor. Looks like he’s gotten himself in great condition, and has trained with explosion in mind.

No Troy, the Lakers won because they had two of the top 5 players in the world. Thats like saying you can’t win the west unless you’re in California.

I’m not a fan of centers who can’t face the basket and score. My concern is that the Pistons signed two centers ahead of him after the draft. I have a bad feeling that we will see him in the G-League. I’m not as high on the draft as others. I felt that we drafted role players with low ceilings verse guys with high upsides (Hayes of course).

I’ll take talent and upside over that everyday.

Have you ever even watched him play? Some of you are bashing someone you didn't even know who he was until draft night.

He’s only 19 years old, so I’m going to assume that he still possesses upside potential. By all indications, he’s got a tremendous work ethic, so with professional coaching and training, he’ll have a real chance to develop further.

I posted this in the draft night thread on page 13 around pick 10 so hes definitely not some unknown huge reach at 16 to some of us

I also like Isiah Stewart from Washington. Not sure about at 16 but hes a really productive big

I agree that some, including myself are being a bit presumptuous but can you blame any Pistons fan for saying these things?

https://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/DET/draft.html

Trust me, ill bet dollars to doughnuts that every fan of this team is rooting for the big guy to become a centerpiece (pun intended) but after years, and years of being the treadmill other teams treadmill upon, it's hard to get excited about much.

Stewart intrigues me to be certain, but I'm tampering any enthusiasm I have after Andre, and now Wood being let go in favor Plumlee, and Grant.

I live on the west coast, so I watched a bunch of their games. I don’t think people realize that this kid literally became the focal point of UW’s offense (and opposing teams’ defenses). I recommend to anyone to watch Stewart against Oregon. He almost won that game for UW by himself. Oregon started consistently double teaming him throughout the game. He had a number of games like that. The kid is good.

But they didn't draft Stewart with the intent to start him, or even play him much, this year. This was pick #16, not #6. Rebuild means you're collecting pieces to build with. He's one of them. Doesn't mean he's ready now. In the mean time, they have to field a team this year and bring in some vets. There's one true vet center ahead of him. That's it.
