Okay this one I don’t get. I’ve been on board with the rest but we’re taking on 21-22 money here with no clear incentive, plus we’ve got like no wing players left now.

Second year is non-guaranteed I believe

Am I missing something or did we trade expiring for guy who averages 5 a game for 26M over the next two years with no additional compensation.
edit: so basically the salaries are a wash this year and we'll pay Dedmond has $1M guaranteed next year. Seems like a sideways, pointless move.

I checked and didn’t see any indication of that on the sites I visited. If you have info I don’t please share it.

Next year Dedmon's contract is only $1M guarantee.
Detroit gains $400K in space, though loses if they just let Khyri walk.
Also helps ATL reduce it's bigman glut to bid on Wood.

Yeah, only guaranteed year for Dedmon is just the upcoming one. And this is a pretty strong sign that they’re expecting to lose Wood (probably to the Knicks).

Dedmon starts here with Stewart and Bradley backing him up. Writing on the wall with Snell when Ariza's full 12.6M contract acquired last night.
Getting guys with TDL value it seems.

Weaver burning bridges with all Stefanski's picks.

The only center we have under contract this season is Isaiah Stewart. We get rid of Snell and Thomas who weren't long term players and help the tank.

Ah okay.
Still seems odd just from a positional depth perspective, this is the third center we’ve acquired in 2 days and we’ve now traded away 4 wings while only drafting one. Is it possible Ariza is actually staying?

Ariza and Dedmon are guys that will give you hard work and some competitive moments on the floor, but won’t win you many games. That’s perfect. The rebuild is in full swing.

Yeah, Ariza is staying. Detroit picked up all his $12.6M contract in the trade.
Ariza can back up Griffin at the four as well, which will free up SF minutes for Sekou and Bey.
I'd expect Grifin-Dedmon-Ariza to start the season up front though.

The Free Press beat guy is saying he doesn’t expect Dedmon to stick and that Pistons are trying to clear more cap room for FA. We’ll see.

I don't see Ariza staying.
We traded away Kennard, Brown, Snell and Thomas... but we added Bey, McGruder, Musa and had a log jam there. This is all about tearing it down before Weaver builds it back up.

Ughh.... what we need to do is take on a big empty salary with a year or two left and land ourselves another 2021 1st rounder.
