Obv it has us taking Cade. Kuminga at 3. They reference the fact it looks like a strong top five as many have. As long as we have worst record worst case we get get a potential star.

I've hit the tankathon mock draft many times, and we move down every time. Hopefully those are reverse jinxs and they are all tapped out.

Nope that’s just the new lottery odds, which are pretty terrible if you finish at the bottom.
If we finish last there is basically a 50% chance (48% to be exact) we would pick 5th.

Doesn’t really seem fair these days

Which is why I keep insisting we finish last this season. This is a year where there likely is going to be a drop off from 5 to 6. Last year the drop off was 3 to 4 but the top 3 were lesser prospects then the top 5 in this draft. Obv I have high hopes for the G Leaguers but they are expected to be strong prospects.

Yeah I pretty much end up with the 5th pick everytime I do the simulator as well, scary.

Fingers crossed all our collective luck isn't that bad when it matters.

Yeah ok apparently the top 5 in 2021 is supposed to be crazy good but I believe landing Cade would make more immediate impact than if we landed Green.

Cade's more likely to link everyone together and we'd get away from this offense where we walk it up and throw it to a big man who runs the offense.

Blake & Plumlee might be "good" passes but I believe that system was detrimental to Hayes and would be detrimental to any young PG.

IF they're gonna be running the show then give them the keys to drive on the highway, not just the drive way!

Well we can figure out who the top 5 guys are and we are going to get AT LEAST one of them, right?

So we need to finish with the worst record.

Looks like one of those guys are going to be sweet, in the top 5, even top 7-8 right? No guarantee Cade is the best player from the draft. Suggs looks like a mad dog out there. I like that spirit.

Suggs with 9pts, 8 rebs and 8 ast at the beginning of the 2nd half. Bad competition today as the score is 70 to 27 lol

Evan Mobley had 25 points on 13 shots last night.

And defense is his biggest strength.

Its going to be crazy seeing him and Cade play with NBA spacing next year.

This is definitely a year to get pick 1 or 2 which is really 1A/1B.
You need 2-way wings, 2-way shooting bigs, and you can't allow low iq players on the court. Assist/turnover ratio is crucial. Shooting point guards are icing on the cake IF they are plus defenders.
Weaver & Casey, govern yourselves accordingly!

I haven’t seen much of him. Is he a C?

Reminds me of Anthony Davis a bit, albeit with a worse frame.

I still think he might end up going 1st pick

He kinda reminds me of Tim Duncan like someone was saying in the Draft forum. Just fundamentally sound with a arsenal of high IQ shots.

I still take Cade. With the way the league is going with even more 3 point shooting and being a playmaker, you simply can do that easier as a guard or SF

That's not a knock against Mobley's talents just the reality of the current NBA barring any rule changes that brings back centers as the focal point

I’m leaning toward Mobely.

My concerns:

Can he add muscle/bulk to his frame to better handle minutes at C? If so, I can see him developing into a long-term 20/10 C. I see him as a mix of Chris Bosh/Christian Wood.

Concerns with Cade:

We already have Hayes and the two are both similar in play style. I think Cade>Hayes...so that’s why I’d still consider taking him.

Hayes isnt a player you even think about when draft our next player. He didnt show enough to where its even in consideration. You just go BAP and let it play itself out.

That said Cades big and Hayes is a big pg so they can fit in the same backcourt.

You guys have to careful not to get your hopes up to high for this draft in terms of selection number. I expect the Pistons pick to be as high as 5, and as low as 9 this year.

Think in that range, and you won't be as bitter when the Pistons get a pick lower then the odds predict as that is exactly what is going to happen.

The only chance the Pistons have to land the #5 pick is if they have the worst record. This is why making sure they have the worst record is paramount this year. Top 5 is good this year.

Now, do we want Weaver making this pick for us?

He seemingly hit on Bey and Stewart.

Hayes is possibly a big miss (too small of a sample size for any of us to know)

How confident is everyone in Weaver being able to make the right choice for us?

Dude why tf would anybody look at a team that's RACING to a 15 win season and only expect a draft pick I the 5 to 9 range? Y'all gotta cut it out with the "Pistons always get screwed in the lottery" narrative.

This is a guards league so give me the player with the best guard skills. Want Cade or Green
