Slowly = scary.

That, to me, means they aren’t playing meaningful minutes until LATE in the season.

It's possible, but not likely. The schedule is going to be packed with back-to-backs and have very little rest built in. If Casey rides Blake and Rose big minutes, they both will be out by wk 4.

Can I actually trust the usual offseason workout quotes without a healthy dose of skepticism or am I being yet naive again?

I remember the Jennings "20lbs of muscle" or CV boxing to stay in shape/tougher, and who can forget, the Drummond practicing his 3's bits.

I think it’s best to treat most of that stuff with skepticism. With that said, the only thing being said about Sekou is that he’s gotten himself in really good condition this offseason. And Casey is never shy about publicly voicing what a younger player needs to work on, so if he’s saying that Sekou is in shape this offseason, it’s pretty believable to me.

Fair call it's usually all hype but there is a clip on Youtube showing Sekou working out (once lol) but from all reports he's actually been working hard for a while now.
