And LAC takes silver in acquiring Rondo. They finally have not only a floor general, but the floor general. They are a true threat to take the west now.

Vuc hasn't played with an allstar level talent since...Iguodala in his Philly days. So Vuc being free to be able to be competitive instead of the dump Orlando is, is a good thing

But for the Clippers, I remain unimpressed. Kawhi and PG have yet to really show that they truly mesh together and on top of that, they have to win against Lebron for me to even register a pulse in thinking that they are a true west contender

Otherwise, I'm still taking Denver and the Jazz over them even before the healthy Lakers squad

Barring some miracle, I think it’s safe to say Houston is the worst team this season.

And there we go. Lebron's next reclamation project continues. Last time it was Javale McGee and Dwight Howard

This time it's Drummond. If Dre ever gets off the label of empty calories type of guy, it'll do him a huge favor for next pay day

As a stats player, he's joining the master of stats in LeBron. But they both shown that stats ain't enough to win it all.

High risk, high reward move for Dre to go there: if the Lakers don't win the championship, he'll lose millions of dollars, if they win it with a productive garbage man in Drummond, he'll be paid.

I hate the move TBH, but it's Dre so I'm not surprised at all.

I hope Dre acts up and destroys them.

Nets couldn’t fit him in?

At least the Cavaliers are paying him to have a chance at the finals, not us. Let's see if he can step up to the opportunity.

Well, they did just get Lamarcus. They're probably going all in on scoring in 7 seconds or less with that move.

Their defense is straight up Swiss cheese but a lot of potential guys that can randomly go off for 10 straight points when there's a scoring drought in a close playoff series.

No I knew. I’ll watch them come playoff time openly rooting against them.

https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/31158804/blake-griffin-says-joining-brooklyn-nets-changed-how-public-perceives-him

No Blake. The results of your play dictate how the public perceives you. Maybe being surrounded by better talent opens up enough space for you to be effective where you couldn't be on your own before. Maybe you are in a better headspace with a new start and that has removed mental blocks that stood in your way.

But you were given ample opportunity to prove yourself on the court (30 MPG the last two years) and you simply were below average in effectiveness on both ends of the floor. Your production was far below the dollars we were spending on you. That is why you were being perceived in a negative light. And it was justified.

You've played 3 games in limited minutes after a bunch of days off; coming off the bench. You're playing 60% as long, shooting 40% as many shots, and only 20% as many 3s. Yes, you've made a few more percentage-wise but let's see if that keeps up. Even if it does, this is a FAR FAR different scenario in what you are being asked to do than what you were being paid for in Detroit.

When you were screaming "I still got it" after barely taking that alley-oop pass for your first dunk since 2019 I was thinking: "Yep. You've still got the same athletic ability you've shown the past 2 years." When Saddiq Bey blew by you with no resistance on the following possession I said "Yup. Still got it." When you cried for a foul afterwards and the rookie just smirked at you as you tried to bully him I still agreed again. "Still got the same temperament." You still have whatever you've had the last 2 years Blake. You still got it.

He's also gonna be on his own for a while without AD or LeBron. I have a feeling he's gonna make a ass of himself for a minute trying to be the man.

Not sure if it was intentional but trying to put both Lebron and Drummond in the same "stats player" bucket where I assume you mean "empty stats player" is basically like comparing apples to elephants. Any talk of LeBron being an empty stats player should have been completely erased by him foisting those Cleveland teams on his shoulders year after year till he finally got a ring with one of them. Yeah, he's been on super teams but it's clear his play results in winning basketball games for the betterment of his team. This is diametrically opposed to how Dre gets his numbers.

But now for what really matters: What's the over/under on number of quarters played before LeBron chews him out for something he does when they are both on the floor together? :)

I'm honestly not a fan of LeBron, but my point here was that both him and Dre put stats with ease and that they have to go further to win. LeBron knows it and Dre will have to learn it.

And I'm with you on LeBron going at Dre as he'll want to be the man in the coming month.

Rockets are currently beating the Nets 24-8. I realize this won’t last, but Houston Winning would be awesome on so many levels.

Not an April fools day thing

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cbssports.com/nba/news/andre-drummond-injury-update-lakers-center-leaves-disappointing-debut-with-right-big-toe-contusion/amp/

It might be petty, but him being ineffective and then going out with a minor injury entertains me a little much.

Andre has played 14 minutes as a Laker. If his toenail keeps him from returning to the lineup this season, he will still get a ring if they win it all.

Cleveland is paying Andre $27,957,239, all but $794,536 of his contract this season. That's what the Lakers paid for those 14 minutes.

It's absolutely comical. It's as if the Lakers are cursed this year with all these injuries

In those 14 minutes he played, he looked the same usual Dre to me. Which doesn't bode well for the Lakers

That’s what I mean. You had Lakers fans and stat watchers acting like they just landed a 3rd star or at least someone who would be a huge bonus.
