Is it happening??

Or does it mean that players like Ellington will start getting game time now?

Unless there are direct orders from upstairs to start playing the youth more, I wouldn't be surprised to see Casey use every available vet player over youth.

Quotes like this give me a glimmer of hope, but as we know with Casey & Co. we'll have to see it to believe it..

There's a good chance we'll see Stewart as we are short on centers. Ironic but good. I hope he sees enough time to get a feel for NBA speed and size, and make some mistakes too.

I'm hoping to see Lee or Frank Jackson get some minutes but it'll likely be Wright shifting to backup PG. Combined with Grant moving to PF, Svi, Josh and Bey should see more time.

There is always the possibility McGruder gets 30+ minutes too. Train wreck or day care, it's at least interesting again and I look forward to it.

There half of that casey quote undermines that one.
"“The word is rebuilding. We're retooling or rebuilding. This season is to develop Killian, develop Isaiah, develop Saddiq and those guys,” coach Dwane Casey said Sunday. “It may not be in a game; it may be more in practice. But as the year goes on and they get more comfortable, we'll feed them more minutes."

Yeah, I doubt it. Tough to believe in anything Casey says.

so it seems like Blake and Rose wont be playing in b2b's for a lot of the season.

That is a step in the right direction for sure

Please, tell me that we will use Grant as a PF. If he put Sekou as a 4 or 3 along with Grant we are gonna have the same problem:

Killian-Svi-Jackson-Grant-Plumlee
Wright-Ellington-Bey-Sekou-Stewart

I would even like to see small ball with Sekou or Grant as a center.

The honest report:

Blake Griffin (creaky, tired, afraid to play inside)
Derrick Rose (tunnel vision, chucker)
Jahlil Okafor (incompetent, pylon)
Sekou Doumbouya (rattled, inconsistent)

I sure hope we get to something worth watching on Monday, even if we lose badly.

Let’s blow this game in the third quarter so the rookies can play the 4th.

Hayes will play more regardless.

No choice, right?

I hope Sekou gets 30 minutes. He always looks like he’s afraid to make a mistake out there. Let the horse run. For the love of god.

Good. Maybe this game will be watchable even if the Hawks beat them soundly, which is likely either way.
Smart to load management them too. Including preseason, Casey is playing them too much which is almost certainly going to lead to injury at this rate.

Does seem like orders from above. Keep your trade assets from burning themselves out. Force your coach to play the young ones. However, if all that is true - and this is pure message board conjecture - why keep Casey?

It's possible it came from above.

It's also possible we're just following general policy on how older veterans (especially those with recent injury histories) are used these days.

Westbrook isn't playing in ANY back to backs this season.

Yeah, that’s what makes sense to me. Trying to look at it objectively there is no possible scenario where Blake or Rose SHOULD play back to back games. That only risks injury and no one can say that it’s best for the team if either one of them goes down to injury. Secretly hoping they get injured because you want to see the kids play more may meet your desire but it’s definitely not best for the team.

BG played 44 minutes last game, there is zero reason why he should play tonight after that. Same reason for Rose as well
