I’m not sure that I understand the issue here. We drafted Hayes to be the point guard of the future. I feel all these arguments are kinda wasting our time. I guess the really question is if we need to draft a new PG in 3 years because Hayes didn’t cut it.

Like Troy Weaver, for example

Yeah, that NBA-worst 2-9 record is clearly indicative of positioning for a playoff run

I checked Hayes' stats and they are more putrid that I recall. 4.6ppg on 28% shooting. Not writing him off yet because he has yet to play with confidence but man that is rough as hell.

Think you're gonna have to change your mind soon enough.

Evidence is all around you that we're not chasing the 8th seed anymore

That line was always for the media, we won't be chasing anything till we get some more talent.

If anyone watched the training camp videos of Weaver and Casey they clearing stated the idea was "to compete to win"

Note that they didn't just say win!

Assuming you believe that Weaver is/was this up and coming executive that didn't choose to leave OKC for other opportunities

So:

He somehow tied his future to this franchise and owner, had 5 months to dissect this thing before making a single move and somehow he's a moron despite landing Grant, the rookies and Jackson

Fair enough he didn't do it "my" way but can we allow this to play out?

Or is he supposed to have us contending for that treadmill we've all known for so long?
