Hypothetical DRose Trades
There are reports that the Knicks and Clippers have already expressed wanting to trade for DRose.
What are you best trades with either of those teams?

Re: Hypothetical DRose Trades
Whatever the best pick we can get is.
This year would be preferable but not absolutely necessary.
I’m skeptical a trade happens. We may be in a situation where teams will look for us to buy players out like we did with Reggie and Markieff last year.

Re: Hypothetical DRose Trades
I'd take at least 2 of the 2nds back from LAC that were sent in the Kennard trade. The problem with them is salary matching, they aren't going to move Lou Williams for Rose, as Lou is better. And I can't see them moving Zubac either, as he is their only usable center.
The question with a potential Knicks trade is what are they willing to add to either Ntilikina or DSJ. Both of those guys work straight up for Rose and both are on expiring contracts. Doubt they are willing to add either of the Dallas 1sts, but they do have several extra 2nds incoming they can add.
Knicks actually own Detroit's '21 and '23 2nd rounders, give me those back and its a deal

Yeah I don’t think a first plausible from the Knicks, and our own second back has more value than a late first.
It’s unlikely I think.

Agreed, I don't think the trade market for Rose has ever been all that strong. Off the top of my head, Alex Caruso + a 2nd was the only offer I remember hearing.

I think you are right. I'd be fine with just getting the '23 pick back, because as previously mentioned I don't think there is a strong market for him. Would love to be proven wrong though.

Keep thinking we could expand it to Rose/Plumlee (they need help at C) and take back junk expirings and a 1st rounder.

And it’s not even clear we were offered that. If anything Rose’s value is down this year.

Saben Lee already looks like a better player, for this team, than Derrick Rose. Saben drives and passes the ball. Derrick Rose drives to score.
If either team will give picks for 2021, take them. The sooner the better. His knees might give out.

Did you just say a 2nd has more value than a 1st?Snakebites wrote:thesack12 wrote:I'd take at least 2 of the 2nds back from LAC that were sent in the Kennard trade. An early second generally has more value than a late first like the Clippers could offer.
Roughly same caliber player at that point- no guaranteed deal.

Re: Hypothetical DRose Trades
Injuries may force a team to need a Rose type a bit more, but as it stands, a second with an expiring or a first with a two year deal would be my best guess. We have $106 million locked up next year already, for ten more I’d take a first rounder.

Rose must be kept on a strict minutes limit when he returns or that left knee will eliminate any trade value.
