Not Hayes and not Lee, I’d bet that much.

Lee and DSJ are both FAs and their play the next 36 games may have a big impact on whether they stay or leave. I'd guess one will be very unhappy if they get benched when Hayes comes back just to see Hayes play worse.

What? I’m pretty much just waiting for certain people to find and comment on this topic.

I’m not even sure Wright makes it past the trade deadline in about 3 weeks.

On the flip side between point and shooting guard, that wouldn’t be a bad guard depth chart to have

Based on a faulty premise. The Pistons will never get the #1 pick.

That much I know. As for the topic, if the Pistons do pick Cade, they will not get rid of Hayes without giving him time to showcase and trade first.

Never ever give up on a player before he has time to really show what he's got.

Gotta trade Delon, and hopefully before this deadline. Get philly to give us a first or more likely a few 2nds. Plus trading him, and Ellington, but mostly Delon helps our tank

Honestly feels like once Lowry gets moved out of Toronto someone will pay up for Delon and we'll get a late first or a good young prospect for him. I agree Philly is very likely and perhaps would also want Ellington because they love shooters out there. Also the Nets with Dinwiddie are a dark horse for his services as well.

none of them have to go, cade might play the point but he won't defend point guards so we'll still need the little guys on the floor.

they should obviously keep the best players, but secondary to that they should keep point guards that are strong defensively and can be good secondary ball handlers. wright is honestly perfect because he can defend point guards full time but also has the size so that he won't be a complete mismatch on perimeter switches. he's a good secondary ball handler and can spread the floor, even though he could still improve in that area.

i really doubt we're getting rid of hayes so early but he's similar to wright, just less talented at this point. saben lee is likely the backup PG anyways so his fit with cade would be less important.

imo DSJ is the likeliest to go unless the team keeps him over saben lee as backup PG.

IMO Cade isnt even a PG more of a wing player that can create. He averages to many turnovers to be a real PG.

Yeah Cade isn't really a pure PG type. The guy is the same size/wingspan as Tatum and can play just about anywhere.

Throw me on board with Cade at the SF spot.

C: Plum/Stewart
PF:Grant/Sekou
SF:Cade/Bey
SG:Wright/Jackson
PG:Lee/DSJ/Hayes (some combination of the two)

This would be amazing, with two second rounders to fill out the depth and the full MLE to perhaps fill out another spot as well if we feel the need to upgrade.

I'm really excited to see how the rookies look the 2nd half of this season, and then again in year two. It feels like Bey/Lee/Stewart really could all be solid rotation players for us next year and help us make the jump from bottom 3 team to a much better team in their second year. They all seem like guys who will put in the work.

I have no interest keeping DSJ, backup guard at best. Average handle cant break the defense down not horrible overall but average to below average across the board. Very replaceable.

If we are lucky enough to draft Cade, I sure hope whatever lineup we settle on doesn’t have Bey as a backup. Lots of potential as an ideal role playing shooter.

Do you mean that from the perspective of the conspiracy theory that the NBA wouldn't give the 1st pick to a team in the Detroit market?

Anyway, Delon Wright is clearly the odd man out in that group. There's a case to be made for trading out of the 1st spot for more assets but I'm also not entirely sold on Cunningham.

Cade can possibly play 1-3 so picking him would give us roster flexibility. I'm guessing he goes top 2 so chances are we won't be picking him (New lotto odds). I think the more interesting question is what happens with the point guard rotation if we draft a more traditional point guard like Jalen Suggs at the 4th or 5th pick (more likely than picking top 2). I'd guess we'd run both Hayes and Suggs out there together to see if they can co-exist and play off each other.

In this scenario the only one guaranteed to be here next year is Cade.

I think we trade delon this deadline. Delon and ellington are very tradable right now. We can get two second round picks for them for sure. If we can dump delon’ contract we can have 20m cap space next season and last time we signed a 20m player weaver hit. I also believe Cade can be a shooting guard while having Killian and DSJ at point guard. No reason why he can’t handle the ball as shooting guard. We have a very bright future ahead of us!

While it's extremely likely, I don't think it's guaranteed.
