The pitfalls in hiring a coach, as conducted by the Pacers

Post#1 » by flow » Mon May 10, 2021 6:31 pm

This article has nothing to do with the Pistons. Not at this point, anyway. But it's just a very good read and details how a team can overlook or gloss over important HC things when it's focused on hiring an assistant coach from a hot, "It" HC's staff. Being a HC is a completely different beast from being an assistant coach, regardless of how much you admire the coach he's assisting. Just something to file away. (but worth the read now).

Good article. Say what you want about Casey as a tactician, but he’s a good man, and well-loved by his players.

Good article.

Really does a great job painting the picture of who their coach is as a man.

Xs & Os your assistants can handle
Schedules the same
Development too

But if you can't manage personalities and egos, especially your own there's gonna be a disconnect and that has the potential to fracture your team into pieces.
