Thoughts on Wiseman? How would he fit.

GS is reportedly looking to move Wiseman. He makes about $9 million. They want to win now
And Wiseman appears to be a but of a project like Hayes.

Would he be a good fit?

Wiseman - Stewart - Bey - Cade - Hayes

That is a young core of 19 to 21 year olds you could be pretty excited to see grow.

Good fit, but high risk. Tbh, doesn't feel like the kind of guy who'll put in the work to reach his ceiling.

It sounds like they're looking to package him with picks to turn Wiggins into a better player- I dunno if they trade him ala-cart anyway.

Wiseman was my #1 guy last draft. He looked awesome in his few college games. I've been wondering how the Pistons might be able to steal him away from the Warriors...I think he can be a 20 and 10 guy and great rim protector once he adds strength. I wonder if Weaver would offer up Jerami Grant to acquire Wiseman? I don't see another guy on our roster that GSW would want unfortunately.

I could see them wanting Grant. His rep is high amongst vets right now as we saw with USA basketball and Lillard and Durant wanting him.

I’m low on Wiseman. I know he’s a kid, but there’s a chance he doesn’t reach his potential because of his immaturity. Lots of talent, but risky.

7, 14, Wiseman and I’d bite. I know that’s a lot, but that’s what it would take for me.

I’m also high on Stewart and don’t see him as a full time power forward.

I would not trade Grant for Wiseman. Not because the value is terrible, but because that dude sucks right now, and he sucks the same way Drummond sucked — mentally overmatched by the game.

We would. But they'd never offer that in a million years.

I doubt they'd offer any combination of 2 of those assets for Grant TBH. Or they might offer 2 of them but we'd have to take Wiggins.

I think some people are overstating Grant's value.

7, 14 and Wiseman for what?

For Grant? Not a chance in hell that Golden State does that

For #1? Not a chance in hell that Detroit does that

Foridaman posted that godfather offer for Grant.

To both there’s no way that offer gets made. People either grossly underestimate or overestimate his value.

But if we get that offer, we’d have to take it.

That's a gross overpayment for Grant, it is GREATLY overestimating his value. I doubt that you'd get two of those pieces for him, never mind three.

I like Grant and think he's a great guy to have around for a rebuild and I probably wouldn't trade him straight up for Wiseman or #7 overall but even if was just Wiseman+14th or 7th+14th that was offered for Grant, you take that and run. All three and you question the Warriors management sanity, then take it and run away laughing sadistically.

I'm pretty sure that package was discussed (I saw it speculated elsewhere) for the #1 pick which Weaver would laugh at obviously.

Yea I know I’m extremely one way. I’m big time in the camp of picking Cade and rolling with what we got and seeing where we are then making the moves next off season.
Unless someone overwhelmed us of course.

No mental midgets. Besides, Stewart is a Center and has been busting Wisemans ass since highschool.

Pass.

If GSW offered just 7 for Grant, you take it. You don’t take 7 and Wiggins, though. We need to be thinking about next summer already.

Agreed. The wholesale changes to tear down the whole roster and start over have already been done. I have never been a fan of the idea of constantly swapping out players because if this player appears to be better than the player you'd trade, you make the trade and your team instantly becomes better. And then you move on to the next player. In simple terms, the value of the pieces doesn't necessarily add up to more than the value of the whole. You've got to stop and evaluate what you've got as a team, then make moves. And don't get me wrong--if there's an argument to be made that, hypothetically, replacing Grant with Wiseman makes more sense for the Pistons because Grant provides X, Wiseman provides Y, and the Pistons moving forward need more Y than X, sure, make the case. But doing it just because you could see Wiseman having an NBA "value" of 90 on a scale of 1 to 100 while Grant is only projected to have a value of 85? No thanks.

Grant, Hayes for #7 and Wiseman (= whatever salary ballast necessary).
