when he'll be ready and available? I read after his foot surgery he needs more time to recover.

I like it. I would have rather kept Plumlee and used to picks to move up for JRE, but for where we picked and what was available, Livers is a damn good pick. He fits around Cade. And Beilein knows him well.

Looks like he has the 3 ball down, but needs to work on the D to be a solid 3&D player off the bench?

don't mind the pick, probably not the highest upside considering his age, but is probably ready to play right now. Elite shooter, a little bit slow laterally but might be able to develop into a solid role player

he looks like a similar player to saddiq bey. elite catch and shoot guy but not great at anything else, but is mature and plays to his strengths. i hope he beats josh jackson for bench minutes since he can shoot and actually plays team ball.

i really like the thought of cade running the pick and roll with beef stew, having two elite C&S guys in bey and livers on the wings and jerami grant to fill in all the gaps/be a secondary play maker. that lineup would never work defensively but i could see that being a situational late-game lineup: switch everything defensively as everyone is 6'7+ and on the other end you have tons of shooting around cade to let him work his magic.

2nd rounders are always going to be taking a chance. Livers plays smart. If he just makes the team it’s a good pick.

Livers almost surely makes the team given Detroit signed Smith to a two-way, and assuming Garza will get the other two-way it means Livers will get a guaranteed deal with the Pistons.

I think I read this comment somewhere else on this forum, and I thought it was a good point. With the Livers and Garza picks (both guys who are 4 year players and 22 years old), it seems like Weaver took the approach of using the picks as ways to add cheap, young “veterans” with the ability to contribute in specific roles almost immediately. I don’t necessarily agree with the strategy, as I’m more a believer in taking swings on upside in the 2nd, but Troy gets the benefit of the doubt from me (at least for a while).

all the young players with upside are taken in the first round, if a freshman makes it to the second round it's likely because they are so incredibly raw or they just don't have the upside. so i think it makes sense to try to get guys who are likely just to crack the roster/rotation.

Just realized that we now have two Isaiahs. One is “Beef Stew” and the other is Livers. All while getting served up passes by a vegan.

A one-and-done freshman who is pegged as a second rounder and still leaves school is a red flag.

This kid is eerily similar to Bey, but with 10% more hops.

Definitely got some shooting on the team now,

Livers-43%
Garza-44%
Cade-40%
F. Jackson-40%
Bey-38%
Diallo-39%

Stewart is and up and comer 3 point shooter, and I'm hoping Hayes can start shooting the ball well.

Love the pick. Mature player who's a great glue guy.

RealGM is weird to where they want guys to be required to stay in school for several years, but also don't want to draft older players, even in the second round. I mean FFS.

Back in the day kids stayed 3 or 4 years in college and it didn't impact their development

Find it funny that some assume these kids have "peaked" before they're even 25 years old.

I know nothing about this dude so will have to watch some clips. Think tonight will be a scouting session on our 2nd rounders

I also like the folks hollering "Gotta be able to shoot in today's NBA!" unless the guy is a freak athlete, then it's okay if he can't shoot. Or if he's not great on D, then it doesn't matter if he's a great shooter.
