If you go by some on this board this other high lottery pick was objectively worse over the course of his first 26 games and should probably be cut as well right? Thats the #6 pick isaac Okoros first 26 game stats per basketball reference.

Good post, but you shouldn't even need to point this out. People saying they know anything about a rookie who had no summer league, no real training camp, was thrown right in to the starting lineup at pg and got injured after 7 games and claiming they know he won't be any good clearly know squat about the NBA.

Comments some of these kids are putting out are stunningly stupid. It is so dumb it is beyond belief, really.

Now they try to claim he showed nothing on D or of being a great passer?. It's just pathetically dumb,. You can't even make statements that dumb and have watched the NBA more than a couple seasons.

Thibs coaches like it's Game 7 every minute of every game regardless of importance. Hell, you can see him stressing like crazy from the stands in Summer League. He's probably the most dedicated coach in the league.

He’s a catch and shoot type player with no play maker to feed him the ball. He’s forcing a lot out there pressing things which is not his game.

Saban is streaky and not a good enough asset or defender, he is a bench guy. He's a spark plug who can hopefully come in and shoot well consistently. There's no decision to be made other than how much time he will get compared to CoJo off the bench.

Saben showed in preseason and summer league that he worked on his three point shot. He plays solid defense. To act like Hayes completely out played him is straight up lying or totally blind. Saben may turn out to be a bench player, but based on their play, it’s a lot closer than what you make it out to be.

It feels like anytime Saben gets the bulk of the PG minutes, he plays really well and level-headed. It was the same story last season, when he would randomly erupt for 20 points while getting guys going. He'd be the random bright spot among our woeful PG situation besides Wright

The bad news is, I'm not sure he's really all THAT good to put him as a starter which is weird. He almost doesn't fit as a sixth man either. But that may be our bench unit not knowing how to shoot though and teams extra camping the paint. Running mates being JJ and Hamidou are streaky shooters at best
