Game 2: Pistons (0-1) @ Bulls (2-0) - Oct. 23 8:00 PM EST
Home & home for the Pistons, but the Bulls had a game in between - last night.
Back-to-back for the Bulls makes this a winnable game.

wonder if the pistons are going to put frank jackson on zach lavine again.
in yesterday's game he was in facilitator mode in the first quarter so he was scoreless. he then dropped 20 points in the second quarter and more accurately, in the last SIX MINUTES of the quarter. he's a heck of a player.

I wonder how well JJackson and Hammi chasing ZLavine for 48 minutes would work?
They are both athletic and long enough to potentially slow his production down.

Yeah I'd like to see Josh Jackson get the start over FJax, or at the very least be higher than the 4th guy off the bench like he was last game. Frank just doesn't have either the size or lateral mobility to remotely bother Lavine defensively. But Dwane Casey isn't known for making adjustments.
I'd also like to see Saben Lee get some meaningful burn this time. He was solid in the preseason and should have earned a spot in the rotation to start the season, especially with Cade being out. But Dwane Casey is going to ride his guys, in this case Cory Joseph.

Wonder how many more games Killian can have like the last one before he heads to the bench.
Generally speaking my excitement for these games will be decidedly muted until Cade is ready to play, but hey, it's still NBA basketball. Almost always worth watching to some degree.

This time on the road with Hayes getting heavy minutes without Cunningham will make it pretty clear where he's at in his development. The opening game at home may not reflect how he does once he settles in. If it does, these road games should help Hayes accept a somewhat different role if he continues to distribute and defend without being a shooting threat.

Although I’d really rather see Josh Jackson start, and I do love Frank’s game btw, I don’t think it really matters.
Zack Lavine is superstar. He is an MVP candidate this year now that he has some help and will have a better record.

Re: Game 2: Pistons (0-1) @ Bulls (2-0) - Oct. 23 8:00 PM EST
I was thinking some who were saying Killian should come off the bench or go to the G league mean the Pistons should totally give up on him after 26 games.
But after thinking about this, they are not saying give up on him right now. Someone even said they don't believe he will be in the League in 2 years, even that guy wasn't saying give up on him this moment.
I now think these guys have a great idea. What they are really saying is, "get this kid out of the pressure and let him just play and earn his minutes". Now I think that it would be brilliant to just let this kid go play 40 minutes a night in the G league for a month. Let him play without the damn pressure and then bring him back but let him come off the bench 10 mpg, then if he is productive, 15 a game and on and back to the starting lineup.
In fact, I think even Killian would like this, would enjoy playing without the pressure and allowed to just earn his minutes as he developes.
The Pistons should have never shoved that kid into a starting pg position when he had no summer league, no camp and preseason to speak of. I now believe Casey didn't do the kid any favors. I think the best help for him is to get the pressure off him and let him go down and play huge minutes in the G league and see if he can begin to dominate down there, then let him work his minutes up here, naturally without forcing him on some time schedule.
That wouldn't be giving up on him at all, it would be trying to lighten the load on him and let him play and earn his minutes as he developes.

we can still start frank jackson and then just hide him on patrick williams which puts grant on lavine. he's our best defender by far but it would be a lot to ask him to cover lavine all game AND carry the offense. they put grant on lavine in the fourth quarter wednesday and he did well.

I agree, using Grant on him could hurt Grant's offensive game. I think the best option is J Jackson, just tell him all we want from you tonight is to stay on this dude like stink on feces. If you can score some, fine, but your main job tonight is to shut that dude down with every ounce of energy you can muster.

Nice start, maybe a little hangover for the bulls but still nice to see them jump right on them

Wow as nice of a start as you can have. Beef Stew with two great post ups, and a few good stops on the defensive end as well. If we can start throwing the ball down low to him in certain matchups and have him efficiently score that is something we could never do with Drummond and something that would had a entire new dimension to our offense. Great to see.

Nice start by the Pistons. If Cade is what he's supposed to be, this team is gonna win some games.
44 more minutes.
