Cade practicing with the Cruise this week.

Post#1 » by bstein14 » Wed Oct 27, 2021 3:44 pm

While the team is off on a 3 game road trip, Cade has been practicing with the Cruise this week. Hasn't been anything mentioned about any issues or setbacks so I'd say all signs point to Cade being back soon. My original thoughts when hearing that he would need to get up to game speed in practice before playing was that he may need to sit out even further because there is often not much time to practice inbetween games, but the fact that we have another team just a mile away from the Pistons practice facility is a huge bonus for us.

I'm also expecting us to make better use of having the Cruise right in our own back yard this season, whether its with rookies like Livers or Luka or if its just bouncing the two way guys back and forth more than we would have if our G League team was still in Grand Rapids.

Good to see Cade warming up to a potential comeback soon.

It's funny seeing Sirvydis still here. Having Michael Tellem as your agent is literally a lifeline

So does this mean Cade DOESN'T have a serious injury that the team was covering up?

Depends on if he plays on Saturday.

If not, the howls will grow ever so louder.

100% not playing saturday. he was "practicing" with the pistons but realistically just doing some light jump shooting.

you can take "ramping up" however you want but i know personally until i hear reports that he's practicing in full with the actual team i'm going to assume he's out for the next while.

I hope everybody can hang in there - it takes a few days to calibrate that bionic ankle.

I'll take that bet. What would you like to wager?

Interesting. We have two combatants. One is certain(100%)that Cade will not play on Saturday (some people want to see the Pistons board burn to the ground)and another is on the opposite side of this.

My money is on pain.

I'd also be really surprised if he was playing on Saturday.

Hasn't the line been pretty consistently that he needs to practice with the team before coming back?

No it just means his prosthetic leg finally came off back order after the amputation.

We'll know it's likely imminent once it's gleefully announced that Cade is participating in full 5 on 5 drills and practices with the team. That's usually been the tell. Until then, who knows

To be fair, the entertainment for me is making someone put their money where their mouth is relative to speaking about of the outcome of future events with certainty. Thus if I win I get something out of it other than just rubbing their face in it. By all means I'd rather lose the bet and Cade not come back because he isn't ready rather than the team run him out there for 5-10 minutes with lingering pain just to appease the fans.

Now after tweeting that out it would be pretty **** to have Cade not play on Saturday. They're pretty much saying he's playing without saying he's playing. Hopefully we'll hear tomorrow that he is a go.

To be clear, I think we've established that according to some people here nothing the team says about Cade should be trusted at this point. Notice how those pics don't show his legs below the knees? How do we know the ankle injury wasn't so bad that his lower leg had to be amputated and he's not going to be bombing out all Oscar Pistorius?

Just wanted to take a second to point out how humbly Cade seems to be approaching this whole thing. Th #1 pick got sent over to practice with the G league team for a week and not a peep from him or anyone associated with him. Just out there putting in the work needed to get back on the court.

For a team that is currently awful, we sure seem to have a lot of talented young guys with a "Going to Work" mentality. Should be fun to root for them over the coming years.

I mean, it said working for the weekend; not this weekend. #sarcasm #greenfont
