Trade Idea (Grant to Washington)
Washington has been playing some good basketball this season. This deal is contingent on them making a push to contend in the East this season. We give them some veteran help, they send us some young assets with potential for the future.
To Washington:
PF Jerami Grant
SG/SF Josh Jackson
C Luka Garza
To Detroit:
SG Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (salary-filler)
C Thomas Bryant
SF Deni Avdija
PF Isaiah Todd
Us long-term
PG - Hayes / Lee
SG - Cade
SF - Avdija / Bey
PF - Todd
C - Bryant / Stewart
+ ’22 pick

No thanks to that offer.
That just seems like making a change for the sake of it

You lost me at bringing back Pope.

He’s merely a salary-filler. We could always flip him to a contender for a 2nd rounder and an expiring….

No thanks.
I just don't see the appeal of the package. Bryant is nice, but Avdija is a bust in the making. Bringing back Pope just makes it worse, never liked that guy personally.

Re: Trade Idea (Grant to Washington)
I like Grant to Chicago for Patrick Williams, Coby White, and Portlands 2022 first round pick (top 14 protected).
A lot to give up to get Grant, but he is a player that could push them to the top of the East, especially if Harden doesn't get back to 100% and the Kyrie Irving situation doesn't work itself out well for the Nets.
Hard to say how much Chicago is really all in on Williams.
Ball-LaVine-DeMar-Grant-Vucevic is quite a solid starting 5 one thru five.

Re: Trade Idea (Grant to Washington)
Yeah I'm on the trade Jerami Grant for Pat Williams + Coby + 1st rounder train. If Williams wasn't out for the season I don't think we'd get him packaged with a 1st but this is a great buy low opportunity. I'm not sold on Coby White but we can't have too many lottery tickets right now who might turn into something more.

I'm pretty sure the Bulls would laugh their ass off at these trade proposals.

Re: Trade Idea (Grant to Washington)
i think grant would be amazing for chicago. they already have lavine and derozan to do the brunt of the ball handling so it would leave grant to be a spot up shooter, attack mismatches and play great defense. he would thrive in that role.
the problem is that williams and white are pretty uninspiring young players to trade for, especially since we'd have to pay white after this season.

Re: Trade Idea (Grant to Washington)
Why? They are built, and more importantly, purposely built to win now. The hole they have at PF, filled by Grant would make them very, very dangerous immediately.flow wrote:I'm pretty sure the Bulls would laugh their ass off at these trade proposals.
Ball
Lavine
Derozan
Grant
Vuc
That is a team that can compete for a title, right now. They would have 5, legitimate guys in the starting lineup that can drop 25+ every single night, and coming off the bench is Caruso.
If I'm Chicago, I do whatever it takes to add Grant.
I hadn't even thought of them as a destination, and Holy crap does he fit perfectly with that team. Good opportunity to really rake them over the coals.

Re: Trade Idea (Grant to Washington)
How about Grant + COJO for Dejounte Murray + Thaddeus Young? A trade both teams win on. We get the starting Point Gaurd we need and send Hayes to the bench to be the 6th man. Young can be a place holder for the top 3 draft pick we can get in either Banchero, Holmgren or Smith. Seems like a win win.

Re: Trade Idea (Grant to Washington)
It pains me to see the Pistons roll out nightly a 6 ft 8 center with very little lift. Sometimes against two 7 ft players opposite him. My wish list is to be able to trade Josh Jackson and garbage for Marvin Bagley. To be able to pick up the best free agent available; either thru free agency or sign and trade. Draft the best available Prospect. Finally I wouldn't be opposed to trading Grant for the right package. I can be patient if that would happen

Re: Trade Idea (Grant to Washington)
With PF prospects like Banchero, Smith, and Holmgren in next season’s draft, it makes the most sense to trade Grant and look to load up at C and SF.

SF / Bey

Williams >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Avdija, everything else is irrelevant. The Washington idea is really bad for us, the Chicago is good, Grant for Williams would likely work great for both teams.

Last season PatWill played most of his minutes at SF, this season he was forced to play PF/C which was not ideal. He is capable of playing either SF or PF imo, so he would fit really well in a 3 forwards rotation of PatWill/Banchero and Bey (coming off the bench and also being able to play some SG if he remembers how to shoot again, if he can't remember how to shoot he is irrelevant).

If this really is Grant’s value ( and it totally could be) I’d probably just prefer to keep him.

Yeah - buy low, sell high.
If his value is low just wait, its not like he's good enough to hurt the tank. Maybe later the team starts the click and he looks great, then try to trade him to the contender.
Otherwise wash and repeat next year.
