Alize Johnson - should the Pistons pick him up?

With the Bulls waiving Johnson, there is an opportunity to add a 25 year old hustling, rebounding PF. A decent defender who does his best work as a rim runner or in the paint, he would fill a need while Grant is out as well as if Grant gets traded. He looks like a useful backup PF to me.

No thanks, the guy just got cut when everyone is desperate for fill in players. Kid has basically no skills outside of being athletic.

Over Chiek Diallo, sure. I just don’t think either one has a real shot at being a rotation player long term. I just think Alize tries harder and actually fills a temporary need.
Honestly though, I’d just keep mining our g league for guys. And see if any are worth keeping somehow

It seems we're in the season of "x got cut, we should pick them up" threads.

Diallo actually had a pretty decent game. 9 pts, 9 boards and a -9 in 19 minutes which was easily the best on the team considering his minutes were put in against the starters. He of course got the same level of respect from the refs that all the Pistons get when playing defense but he definitely showed more than just a "plug in a warm body" presence. His rebounding impact was immediately noticeable.

Any player that signs with the Pistons has the possibility of being better then any player on this team. Doesn't matter if they last played in a rec league.
Good odds they would fit better as well.

In all honesty, both guys are just depth guys. If c Diallo fills a need keep him.
I just think it’s funny Devidas is back with the Pistons. And all the ransoms being signed to hardship contracts

Should have signed one of his brothers; Cristal or Hypnotiq.
