Stolen from the General Board... I think the real key to taking a step forward is getting one of these guys to pair with Cade. Unless Bey can develop into one of these guys, or our 2022 draft pick becomes one of these guys we're not really going to find success with a younger core.

17 NBA executives ranking their top 5 under 25 players to build around.

Scoring system:
1st = 10 points
2nd = 7 points
3rd = 5 points
4th = 3 points
5th = 1 points

Results:
1. Luka Doncic (Share of the vote: 98.2%)
2. Jayson Tatum (35.9%)
3. Ja Morant (30.6%)
4. LaMelo Ball (20.6%)
5. Trae Young (20%)
6. Evan Mobley (12.9%)
7. Zion Williamson (10%)
8. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (9.4%)
9. Anthony Edwards (5.9%)
9. Bam Adebayo (5.9%)
11. Brandon Ingram (4.7%)
12. Jamal Murray (2.9%)
13. Cade Cunningham (1.8%)
14. Deandre Ayton (0.6%)
14. Michael Porter Jr. (0.6%)

Ok, sure. But why on earth would any of those teams give up a guy like that?

Desperation is a stinky cologne. It is in no way necessary at the moment for the Pistons to pry a star player away from another team, which would likely require overpaying.

We probably have to most likely wait until our team is good before we can sink assets into trading for one. I think it's a low possiblity we outright sign one.

New Orleans having a fire sale for Ingram or Ayton hitting free agency are the only likely ones I see on there. Ayton is a better fit and a better piece for a championship level team, IMO. I'm not sure we'd be in good position to win a bidding war for Ingram if he were on the market.

I like Mobley, but I don’t get why he was voted so high

I can't imagine why Michael Porter Jr. is on this list. He's coming off his third back surgery. What GM would build around a player with that history?

You could honestly start to ask the same about Zion at this point.
