Is Cade Cunningham the next Russell Westbrook?

Post#1 » by OhCanada1091 » Sat Mar 19, 2022 8:50 pm

Because they're stats are the same... One player on his way in the league one clearly on his way out. Will Cade have a similar career as Russ. MVP's, triple doubles, lots of turnovers. Has there ever been a rookie to average 4 turnovers per game and fix that at some point in his career?

Cunningham PTS 16.9, REB 5.9, AST 5.3, STL 1.1, BLK 0.6
TOV 3.5, PF 3.4, USG 27.1, PER 12.7, TS% 50%

Westbrook PTS 18.0, REB 7.5, AST 7.1, STL 1.2, BLK 0.8
TOV 3.8, PF 3.0, USG 27.2, PER 14.4, TS% 50%

Have you seen any PG rookie not have a high number of turnovers. Check out Iverson’s rookie season

He has a high bball IQ and it is all fixable as the talent around him improves he won’t need to force as much.

You mean high turnover rookies like Lebron James or Luka Doncic?

Lock this up. Watch a game before you make a silly thread like this.

I've made the statistical comparison before so I understand the impulse. Mine was sorta in jest after he almost had a triple double involving turnovers. The numbers do look similar at times; well rounded stats, volume scorer on low efficiency.

But that's about where the similarities end. Westbrook is more athletic and relies heavily on his natural talents. As a rookie Cade already plays a more cerebral game than the 14 year vet. He applies greater defensive effort, has better footwork and relies more on positioning and angles.

Clearly a troll thread from a Raptors board member. I expect appropriate action will be taken.

Not a troll thread at all. Russell Westbrook is an outstanding player. Cade will be lucky to have a career like Russ are you guys kidding. |Try to look past the constant internet bashing he gets the guys amazing.

Anyways I watched the game tonight against Mobley and he clearly outplayed Evan. Although he also had costly turnovers, missed free throws and bad fouls which ended up being the difference in this one. I guess what I'm asking with this thread is if Cade will ever work that stuff out of his game?

He's been inefficient this year, but most GMs believe he'll be a better player than Scottie Barnes.

I actually don’t have a problem with good faith criticism of our guys from opposing fan bases.

This…doesn’t appear to be that.
