I don't think there is any question that Bey's biggest defensive struggles have come against quicker guards, whom he is often switched on to. He had some struggles playing PF as well down low but those seemed to be less of an issue.

Interesting notes about Bey. Overall his opponents this season have made 4.0 FGs per game on 8.8 FGAs (45.6%)
Opponents score 50.6% of their 2 point attempts against Bey and 36.3% of their three point attempts against Bey.

Cade Cunningham has opponents make 6.8 FGs on 14.6 FGAs per game (46.4%).
Opponents score 51.2% of their 2 point attempts against Cade and 37.6% of their three point attempts against Cade. Cade actually leads the team in 6.1 FGAs he defends within 6 ft of the basket. Which means teams are going after him a lot. Some of that of course is him rotating down to help out as well. He is 16th in the entire NBA as far as how mand FGAs he defends inside per game. Not surprisingly Cade gives up 57.8% on those right at/near the basket. The only other guard in the top 16 in the NBA if FGs defended within 6 ft of the basket is San Antonio Spurs all-star Dejounte Murray who also defends the same 16.1 attempts per game. Every other player in the top 14 is a big man.

One thing you can say about Bey, if he was really easy to score on and playing 34 MPG, teams would be getting up more than 8.8 FGAs per game on him. Teams/players always look for the path of least resistance when it comes to scoring the basketball and when teams play Detroit not a lot of them are going after Bey.

Just watched the game.
Hawks looked flat the game and our guys are playing much better recently so we weren’t losing that.
I think Hayes needs to get punched in the gut more often, he looked so much better after that.
