Top 3 players falling to the #4 pick?

Rumblings that OKC takes Ivey at 2.

So if one of the top 3 players falls to #4, what trade could we do with Sacramento with Grant and the #5 for the #4?

Chet is a high risk pick for sure at #2. It seems like Orlando is almost certainly leaning towards taking Smith at #1.

Ivey would be a bit strange with Giddey and SGA already both playing with the ball in their hands a lot. Seems like Ivey doesn't make sense unless they are making other moves.

Doesn’t really impact us if it happens, and I really doubt it. There’s always rumblings like this a month away from the draft.

Smokescreen to see who wants to pony up for the right to Draft Chet/Jabari/Paolo

There's gonna be a lot of this kind of thing over the next month

Word has it that Jordan may come out of retirement. Is he worth Cade and #5?

I hope OKC takes Sharpe.

Since I just want Chet the most. Does anyone think 5, 7 and Bey gets us 2?

#5 and changing the protection on our pick we owe them to 100% unprotected gets us #2 this year.

They'd love another shot at Wembanyama next summer. Even someone like Dariq Whitehead might be better than anyone in this draft as well.

That's pretty damn risky. If you convert it from top 18 protected to top 4 protected, I probably do it (in case the Pistons finish like #8 and win the lottery). But A) I only do it if they LOVE Chet, and B) I'm not sure that gets it done.

Super risky for sure. You don't want to be the team that gave up the #1 pick that ends up being the next superstar player in the league. Even if its just a 14% or less chance of them getting #1 its still a huge risk just to move up 3 spots in this draft. I personally wouldn't make that move, but I also am not a huge fan of Chet... I'd be thrilled to get him at #5 but he's got too many question marks to make that kind of trade up move to land him.

No way I drop our 2023 protections completely for Chet Holmgren. He's as likely to bust as anybody in this draft. I'd rather just draft #5 and keep our 2023 pick which is likely lotto again.

I can see him falling past three

I can’t see him falling past three, but I can slightly see OKC passing or trading him.

The thing about all 3 teams in the top 3 is that they all have good guards. And weaker at forward. So I have a hard time seeing a scenario where one of them takes an Ivey or Sharpe. Like you said though, maybe a team isn't in love and are willing to trade out. But straight up keeping the pick and taking Ivey/Sharpe?

I mean maybe the Thunder are thoroughly committed to the tank for one more year and they take Sharpe? Because he could probably be a quasi-"draft and stash" for this upcoming season in the G League. So he won't help winning this season. That's the only scenario I see where one of the top 3 falls to 4. And then I don't see any scenario where the kings either don't take that player, or trade that pick. They're not going to take Ivey over Chet/Paolo, whoever theoretically falls.

Now maybe they're willing to trade the pick, and in that scenario they do Grant and #5 for #4. And if the Pistons love the guy who fell to #4, you do it. And if they don't, you probably just keep Grant and pick #5. If I'm the Kings and Chet is somehow there, I take him. He fits with Sabonis. But if Paolo is there, I try to get the best offer I can. Because I don't know if I like the fit of Paolo with Sabonis. Offensively could possibly/probably work, but defensively could be ugly.

This is so illogical no way its true. OKC has SGA,Giddey, and Dort already in place as keepers. So they will go against the consensus board and pass up need to go for Ivey who also is a bad fit? Also ive seen leaks saying they want Chet as recently as yesterday.

While it is my own post.... OKC has a billion 1st round picks which they could never trade to get in the top three. Unless they get a superstar for it... hard to see them trading it.

This. There's always this weird smokescreen being set up by teams when there's no consensus number 1, even more so with no consensus top 3

I expect a lot of private, secret workouts conducted by teams as we get closer to draft night and a surprising top 10 guy moving up to top 5 somehow. It's always been this way

I'd want to trade out of a top 3 pick, not trade into one. The top of this draft is very underwhelming.

I think Cade gets us 2. Since we're talking about terrible ideas that I hate. :P
