Raptors OG wants a bigger role... Should we consider him at PF?
OG obviously has ties to Casey. He played his college ball at Indiana. He's just 24 years old still. He's signed for the next two seasons at $17ish million per year before a player option after that. If there' trade that moves out Grant and brings in OG should we make it happen? He's a versatile player that fits better with our younger core than Grant in many ways and he still has room to grow beyond what we've seen from him.
The bad news is, the Blazers are reportedly interested in him and I could see them having some preference for him over Grant in a trade for a PF to add to their roster this season.

I'm not liking that 44.3 FG%, 5.5 RPG and 0.5 BLK in 36.0 MPG for a 7'2" guy.

There's going to be several suitors, and Detroit isn't long on assets.
Detroit can and will get outbid, and that's for the better IMO.

I’d be in on OG, but I get the feeling the price will be astronomical.

Re: Raptors OG wants a bigger role... Should we consider him at PF?
I actually think Portland would give up #7 for OG.... For Toronto, the appeal of locking a young player into a long term contract at a low price is appealing... getting someone to pair with Barnes for the long term. Of course with any #7 pick, there is a lot of risk at that point in the draft as well. In reality, the #4, #5, #6, #7 prospects in the draft are really all the same types of players. Its certainly possible a Sharpe or Ivey could be there at #7. Sharpe is a Canadian and could really be their high upside target if they do decide to trade into the lottery.
Part of this trade also really makes sense for Toronto if their ownership isn't wanting/willing to pay the luxury tax for the team as they are currently constructed. GT Jr is a FA next summer and could easily get a deal topping $100 million over 4 years and they already have their backs up against the luxury tax wall.

So (from T&T board), would you trade 5 and KO for 33 and OG? I get the feeling that’s the realistic price range here.

It will be, and Masai always plays hardball with his trading partners so I'm not even sure we have the assets to realistically acquire him
Doesn't seem feasible at all for the Raps and DET. Portland will happily add the 7th and whoever and that'll be the end of that

Maybe I'm just lower on OG, but that seems too rich for me. I like OG, but a chance to hit on a rookie that is going to be 4 years rookie $$$ and then a rookie extension, as opposed to likely only 2 more years on OG before he hits FA or demands a massive contract? I'll take my chances on a rookie.

I'd pass I'd be interested in OG the role player but not OG trying to be kawhi Leonard already got that in Grant.

Yeah this team, in its current landscape, should not be trading a top 5 pick for a solid starter who might already be near his ceiling.
I dislike having KO around as much as anybody, but Detroit has more than enough cap flexibility to weather the storm with him around.
This whole dissatisfied with his role thing, sounds quite similar to the pre-Detroit Jerami Grant situation. Only this time, swap it from being Weaver's guy to Casey's guy. Detroit also can't just use cap space to acquire that guy this time.

I'm sorry but that is just idiotic, and fits perfectly with Raptor fan.
Holy crap. Just keep Grant if thats the case.

Am I missing a punch line here? He's 6'7", not 7'2" ?
Full disclosure: I'm not advocating for him either way because if he is 6'7" doesn't that basically make him Jerami Grant 2.0? Which might be neat... except we still have 1.0 still on our roster...

I think he inadvertently left off "wingspan." Because I also had to Google it thinking that may have been the case, and that was his measured wingspan.

I admit I don't get this thread. OG's a solid young player, but at power forward? We would be declined if we offered the fifth pick in the draft?
This is all an easy no.

Yes, that was a mistake on my part. But yeah, the fact that he’s 6’7” makes the case even worse.

Re: Raptors OG wants a bigger role... Should we consider him at PF?
I think Bey would play PF for us and OG would play SF, doesn't really matter, we switch, but what I am trying to say is, he would be a great fit for us and I like his game quite a lot and he would fit in our switch everything defensive scheme. If the decision is between OG and Keegan Murray, I think I would take OG, even with money and time of controll considered.
Maybe something involving Grant #7 and OG and we keep #5 but add a little bit of value for someone else? I think Dame would take Grant over OG and we could take OG over Grant for several reasons.
I think his issue in Toronto is because Barnes will have an increased role, Siakam is their #1 option and FVV #2, they also have GTJr so there's a good chance OG will be the 5th option for them.
Another idea would be Grant #5 for GTJr and OG and a future 1st from Toronto or something.
Stewart
Bey
OG
GTJr
Cade
that would be entertaining.

If OG wants a bigger role at PF, he should grow taller.

I like OG but I’d rather keep the pick. OG is an upgrade and fits our timeline better than Grant does but he’s not a game changer.
