Thanks are in order. Sacramento, Charlotte, and "The Mecca"
I just wanted to make this thread thanking the superior brain trusts in these NBA cities, for allowing the Pistons to select the two guys Weaver wanted most. It's not often you can fleece the worst run franchise in the NBA from top to bottom(Sacramento), the worst ownership(Hornets) and the worst front office(New York) all in the same day.
Hats off to Weaver for his ability to recognize a rube when you see one. Well done!
What's next for these franchises? Detroit has cap space, so maybe first round picks attached to, you guessed it, bad contracts given out by said teams, so they can again go out, and load up on even more bad contracts.

Proof that Weaver knows what he's doing and a whole lot of posters on this board don't.

Eh, feels a bit in poor taste. We've had our share of bad front office decisions as a franchise. I'm not courting that bad karma.

It shows how bad the Knicks front office truly is. The future first and seconds for 11 would have been a win for the Knicks. Instead they speed a little pick to get outta 9 mill in salary. Knicks doing Knick like things.

This is wack we're in the same boat as those teams. Hopefully our rebuild pans out and we start winning.

We might be able to fleece New York again, since the need more room to make their run at Brunson. That being said, not sure what I'd want besides future draft capital.

Thank you Rip Hamilton for the luck in the lottery of putting the Kings ahead of us.

We fans have gone thru 15 years of poor taste, so I'm feeling pretty thankful there are now front offices much worse then the Pistons.
Oh and don't worry, ill court that bad Karma for everyone.

I'm happy that we've finally added a true Center to bring us future above rim post play.
Stews strength at switching gives him value, but it's always nice to have a guy with the better vertical ability than the ground bound limits Sterwart had as a 6'8" Center.
A all lockdown unit of Stew, Duren, Cade, Ivy and Killian seems like a potentially nasty D.
We just became a faster, higher squad and I could see that group fastbreaking off blocks and deflections very well.

Other than arguably Sacramento, the Pistons were by far the worst-run NBA team of the 2010s. I'm glad things have finally changed around here.

Re: Thanks are in order. Sacramento, Charlotte, and "The Mecca"
Sacramento gets a pass because they drafted for need. The rumored “turned down a godfather offer for 4” isn’t the best if it happened. But I don’t think they did anything wrong drafting who they did.
Charlotte largely gets a pass because they got a future first and some seconds for a pick I thought they would utilize better. But I never thought they would keep.
New York, thank you. They got so desperate to clear cap space they that got a lottery pick from Charlotte and handed it off to unload Kemba Walker. When you manage your payroll so poorly that you need to get a lottery pick to unload a $9 million expiring contract. The only way that goes better is if we got Alec Burks instead of Kemba. But that would’ve been out there. The fact that it wasn’t Noel makes me think Robinson might not be one of their priorities in free agency.
Also, you do realize that we could’ve got topics like this directed at Detroit M-A-N-Y times.

My thanks are to Ed Stefanski for sticking to it and getting his man, Troy Weaver. Very thankful.
