He probably deserves his own thread, especially if we’re tanking again.

From what I heard he's all potential at this point he's actually not very good at basketball over there in Euroleague or whatever it's called

Great defensive prospect but next year should be a deep draft where losing out on him or whomever goes #1 doesn't feel like a loss. Pistons could use another promising forward and should have no problem finding one in the 2023 draft.

Unless we’re planning on sitting out young guys (Cade, Ivey, Bey, Stewart, Diallo, Duren, and assumingly Bagley) a TON, I don’t see how we could possibly tank good enough for another top-5 pick.

Worst-case scenario, we might be in pick #8-13 range.

Remember- no matter how bad we are we’ll never have better than a 14 percent chance at the consensus number one guy in any draft.

We’re not setting out to tank. We’ve never set out to tank at the start of the year. We try to win early, and when it becomes clear that we’re gong to be very bad, we start tanking.

I would prefer if we showed real progress this year- if our guys take a leap. I’m tired of tanking and we’ve got a lot of talented young players already.

But hey, if it happens it happens. And it might. We’re a very young team with poor outside shooting. But I hope we’ll be a little better.

I’ll be keeping an eye on Cam Whitmore

He’s supposed to be one of the best defenders. Going to Villanova is good sign too. 5-10 range in the draft

Let’s see what happens in Free Agency.

So far, looks like the Spurs are already actively tanking….

What about Emoni Bates? Wasn't 2023 his draft?

Lol he just transferred to Eastern Michigan

He’s gonna have to dominate that league to be a lottery pick.

He’s got the wingspan of a trex, not a good sign. Didn’t play well at Memphis.

That's one of most impressive highlight clips for an 18 year old I've ever seen. His defense is stellar and his shooting stroke is perfect.

8-13 may be correct, but we still get ping pong balls, and anything is possible.

#8 has a 26% chance at a top 4 pick.

His stats are worse than Luka at the same age, BUT he's so much more fluid and agile moving around the court than Chet is. He's got better lateral quickness than Chet. 100% easily the #1 pick in this draft, and even if his season is great next year he's going to be the #1 pick based on upside.

With the moves we've made thus far, I could see us coming out of the gate trying to compete... but then once we hit late January and its clear we're still a year away we make some moves, trade some vets, and go all in on the young guys the 2nd half of the season.

If we aren't good enough to be a play-in team, Weaver will make sure we're a little luck away from a top 4 pick. Whether that's finishing 5th, 6th, 7th worst in the NBA is yet to be seen but all those still have good odds of moving up. Toronto was 7th and moved up to get Barnes. The Kings were also 7th or 8th and moved into the top 4 this year.

Not nearly as polished as Luka was, but it's very impressive for a prospect his age to be playing consistent minutes in EuroLeague at all. He also was great at the FIBA U19 tournament. Was comparable to the top American prospects on that team (including Chet) despite being two years younger.

Casey's still the coach. Don't sell him short.
