I look forward to him increasing his 3 pt %, drawing more FTs, and cutting down on the turnovers which will be needed to confidently put him ahead of his 2021 peers. Not a small task but not impossible, and I can't say with good conscience and looking at things objectively that he should be above Mobley at minimum and maybe Wagner. Guess we will find out.

Neither of those guys are lead guys.
Again, I'd take Cade as a lead guy over both and without much hesitation as long as he's healthy.

Cade very well may not be a lead guy but we shall see.

Statistically Cade was never better than Mobley or Franz.

But Cade was the franchise leader the Pistons needed at the time. As long as he continues to improve, there won’t be any regrets. I don’t see Mobley of Franz getting MVP. Theyre not even the alphas on their own teams.

If you have a team leader that is talented, has IQ, aggressive, AND unselfish, that’s all you can ask for. You can fill in everything else after that.

That’s the same reason we don’t need Scoot this year. We already have the conductor. Now we need to fill out the band:

Vic
Miller
Whitmore
Walker

With any of these guys added, they are ready to start competing.

Cade/Killian
Ivey/Burks
Bojan/2023
Stew/Livers
Duren/Wiseman

With a good coach, that’s the 10 man rotation next year. Omoruyi and Diallo are brought back for injury insurance.
You need 2-way wings, 2-way shooting bigs, and you can't allow low iq players on the court. Assist/turnover ratio is crucial. Shooting point guards are icing on the cake IF they are plus defenders.
Weaver & Casey, govern yourselves accordingly!

If we're lucky and win lottery, depth chart will likely be:
Cade/Killian
Ivey/Burks
Bojan/Livers
VW/Stew
Duren/Wiseman

If we're not, we will probably sign or trade for a starting PF with all our money available, then depth chart will be:
Cade/Killian
Ivey/Burks
Bojan/2023
FA or trade/Stew
Duren/Wiseman

Anyway, I don't see Stew starting anymore next season.

Yes, and wants to avoid injury... but the less scouts see from him could also allow a player or two to pass him if they have a big March Madness. Just seems to me like if you're really a competitor you're wanting to be out there and really show what you've got. It would be like college players playing the regular season but taking March Madness off to start preparing for the NBA draft. Ben Simmons did something similar when he left college early to prepare for the draft leaving LSU hanging.

He has been hurt all season and the Ignite never contend for anything.
What did he injury?

Seems like Brandon Miller is in an extended scoring slump.

If we miss out on one of the big 3 Dick is at the top of my list. Kid can do a little bit of everything, isn't lost on defense and can shoot the lights out. We have enough athletes, we need pure shooting.

His one on one defense isnt great but his team defense is incredible. Hes really good being in the right spot getting hands in the face of shooters even if its not his man. His hands are just incredible hes constantly pressuring passing lanes getting steals etc. Hes always giving max effort not taking plays off etc.

On offense hes exactly what we need. Hes a problem when the ball isnt in his hands. Hes out there hustling making high level cuts and constantly going in transition. I posted a highlight a few pages ago where he goes full possessions making the right read every time just giving your team small % edges on offense that add up over the game but dont show up on the stat sheet.

Obv the bread and butter is that amazing high release 3pter he brings to the table. Good luck stopping that its art.

If we end up in our most likely spot (by odds, 5th), I wouldn’t be disappointed if we took Dick. We definitely needed more athletes at this time last year, but with Ivey, Duren and Wiseman around, that’s reasonably covered.

I certainly prefer Grady to the Thompsons. I don’t see how those guys are gonna score if they aren’t in transition.

I could be dead wrong but the Thompson twins read as athletes that can play basketball, Dick seems like a legit baller.

Why did Jean Montero fall from projected mid-1st to undrafted last year after dominating with Overtime Elite? He was the OTE scoring champion a year younger than the Thompson twins are now, averaging 22.5 points, 6.2 assists per, 9.9 rebounds and 4.6 steals per 36 minutes.

I have the twins ranked late lottery to mid 1st because they are such elite athletes. Am I missing something?

I hope we trade the pick if we’re even considering Dick. His lack of athleticism shows at the college level. He reminds me of Reggie Bullock, but less athletic. There is no top 5 worthy comp for Dick.

Really liking what I see from Brandon Miller thus far in the tournament. He's 6'9 and not particularly explosive but he has a sweet stroke from 3 and would give the Pistons length and shooting at the 3 spot. Reminds me of Tayshaun.

Walker is a terror defensively. I'm not sure how much of his offense will translate to the next level but, man, we could really use a lockdown defender at the 3/4.

Also, not really Pistons related but Wallace is going to be a good long time pro. He's probably the most pro ready prospect in this draft IMO.

And it continued.

In fact, his year long numbers vs elite defense, top competition are questionable. I have him firmly 3rd and wouldn't consider him over Scoot.

Not a good game by Miller tonight. Wonder if he’s 3rd on the Pistons board now?
