I didn't think it was possible, but they made a worse jersey than the "Chrome." Why is it so hard to bring the reds back?

I guess I'm well into my 30s now, so design/marketing doesn't care about making stuff that appeals to my age bracket.

I know the old English D that the Tigers use is copyrighted, but it would have been cool if they could have gotten permission from the tigers to use that font either with just the D or the DET in that font.

I would buy a teal jersey before this one.

Not a fan of it.

They just keep making more and more jerseys for the sake of making them

Just goes to show that horizontal stripes can make even professional athletes look fat.

Notice that neither Cade nor Saddiq are smiling in this pic. If I were them I wouldn't be either. :)

If I was more cynical, I would say they designed these to be this ugly on purpose so people would be more accepting of the teal. I actually find myself hoping that the teal jerseys are used more often now so we don't have to see these monstrosities more than is required.

Ugly, but different. I can only imagine what an atrocity the floor that goes with these turds looks like.

A professional designer made those things?

Apparently, uniform designer is right up there with meteorologist for easiest profession. Everyone expects you to suck, and no one fires you if you do.

I would have preferred they just kept the red ones from last year.
I don’t like black with blue and red.doesn’t look good and the clippers did it (admittedly worse than Detroit) already.
If the black was grey it wouldn’t be so bad,

Yeah, but those were a one-off, and while they were OK, I still wasn't huge on them due to the teal and lightning bolts. The Goin' To Work red set feels like a Pistons alternate, having the same general design and colors. Plus it was actually popular in its day. I can't fathom the continuing refusal to resurrect it.

Well, it all makes sense now;

https://theathletic.com/3573883/2022/09/07/pistons-statement-uniforms/

"The voicemail was heard by someone in the Pistons’ ticket-sales department. It made its rounds around the office. Many people laughed at Hardy’s passionate rant — which featured Detroit lingo like “dog-ass jerseys” — including Tyrel Kirkham, the Pistons’ vice president of brand and marketing strategy. However, Kirkham heard the love tucked inside the humor, and as the organization was preparing to mock up uniforms for the following seasons, Kirkham wanted everyone on his team to keep Hardy’s voicemail in mind."

Inspired by a madman. Maybe, someone can call them back to get them to try again.

As long as the team is winning I don't give a flying eff what they wear in the grand scheme.

I'll remember you said that when they introduce teal versions of these atrocities.

You're not wrong in the big picture; I just don't like how the Pistons marketing team is pivoting away from the classic designs and colors to chase flame emojis from 15 year olds on Instagram. The ugly court design they used last season was another example (hopefully the classic one is coming back this year).

And this post is how I realize I've officially become an old man.
