We won value-wise (assuming there’s no picks involved). This is an 18 ppg player on 38% from 3 that can easily be flipped at the deadline. Burks and Bojan give Ivey and Cade the spacing they need to be effective. The only downside is it leaves us with one less big capable of stretching the floor. Maybe Livers and Stewart have that covered

Is Detroit sending SRP's? Detroit is taking on about an xtra $5M in salary differential in this trade as Bojan makes 19.6M on an expiring. KO and Lee combine for 14.6M, KO has a 3M buyout next year so more money this year to have more for the off-season.

High volume nearly 40% career 3pt shooter. Nothing wrong with adding him for the season to provide spacing.

Where does Bojan get his minutes? Off the bench behind Bey? Bey play more PF than expected?

Looks like the trade is being reported by pretty much every sports media outlet at this point, although a lot of them are citing the same sources (Shams and JLEIII).

We are hunting for the Lakers 2 first round picks. The only offer close would be Indiana's. But we can offer up Noel, Burks, Walker, and now Bogdan. I would even be comfortable throwing in Hamido to get those 2 first. Then we could also send Russ expiring to Charlotte for picks so they can get from under Gordon Hayward.

No picks involved anywhere I read.

Weird trade for utah. Seems they could have gotten some future asset for their rebuild.

Weird fit for us. Obviously we need shooting, but he's 33.

Bojan. Bogdan is unrelated, and Boban's too tall for our team these days.

pretty self explanatory, but the aim/purpose of completing the trade, seems a fairly lateral move

Flip him at the trade deadline is my guess. They had too many players under contract anyway so this gets rid of one contract, buy out Kemba, done. I seriously doubt he's part of any long term plan; find him 20-some minutes a night somehow so he can put up some points and show some value, then trade him for picks.

Ainge has been listening to all those offers and apparently this was the best? His contract is big enough that most contenders don't have that level of dead weight the can just send back with picks.

I don't think it's lateral. Bogdanovic is better than Olynyk at a bigger area of need and is a more flippable asset at the deadline.

Eh, I guess it's pretty lateral in terms of on court play but I do think that Bogdanovic would be a more attractive asset at the deadline as an expiring being a better player (could very well get a 1st for him) and it clears even more cap for next season.

Yes! This fits with what I've been saying;

This team is absolutely not going to be a 20 something win team. They are going for it, this year. Makes the bench, and rotation as a whole now, have deadly damn three point shooting.

Weaver is signaling that he expects more this season, so he's getting the tools to get it done.

He's one a few big wings as opposed to Olynk who's one of 5 PF/Centers. Just from a roster balance perspective it makes sense, let alone the improvement in shooting and opening up the roster spot.
