Bassey plays like Steward & Pistons were interested in him 2021

Bassey was drafted with the 23rd pick of the second round at the 2021 NBA Draft. As a rookie, Bassey appeared in 23 games. The 6-foot-11 center averaged 3.0 points and 2.7 rebounds in 7.3 minutes per game.

Yes, people have nothing to talk about on this site, so I will give them something.
Since you have nothing to say about Charles Bassey then your input is not needed.

STEWART, not Steward.

Who do the Pistons cut to make room for him?

That's an easy answer = Kevin Knox

I think I need to suggest a feature request such that threads created by folks on a foe list no longer appear when viewing a message board.

The Delaware Blue Coats improved to a 20-9 record on Sunday, defeating the Motor City Cruise 125-118. This key win pushed the Coats above the Cruise in the Eastern Conference standings, where they now sit half of a game above them in third place.

This was another great display by Sixers’ assignee Charles Bassey – who has become one of the best bigs in the G League. Bassey put up 19 points (8-13 FG, 1-1 3PT), 11 rebounds, three assists, and five blocks in 27 minutes before fouling out.

I assume I’ll eventually regret this, but here we go. Why? For Motor City, sure. Detroits roster, no. We have no need for him, he’ll be a project for a couple more seasons at the least, and there’s nothing really spectacular about his skill set.

I don’t even care for Knox, but I’d still rather keep him around.

look at the game tonight our only big Duren gets 3 fouls in 4 min (typical for him). Stewart is too small we need another big.
or teams will be Dunkin on us all night long. Also the other team is getting too many offensive rebounds another big would cut them down.

Here's a guy we let go:

Jon Krawczynski: Finch on Luka Garza: “He’s the perfect system fit for us. Great acquisition by our front office. He’s a guy I think can really grow into our system here. He can stretch the floor and he can score around the basket. That’s a great combo. Not a lot of bigs can do that.”

As is well known I will bust balls as hard as anyone here and I gotta say, the kid's got a point. Maybe not with overpowering merit, but certainly not at a level of being dismissive.

You get why people see you the way they do right?

If the Pistons wanted to address their rebounding issues, they’d add a veteran, not a project big.

You get that’s media speak try to up a nothing player. It’s not that Garza doesn’t have skills, it’s that he’s just not an NBA player. And Bassey isn’t worth a roster spot, unless you have an open two way spot. That’s even debatable based on the team. Also, him for a two way contract with Detroit? Nope

After seeing K.knox tonight I like him, so I would ship off R. McGruder instead for a big.

The Detroit Pistons announced this afternoon that the club has waived guard Jules Bernard. The team also announced that they have signed forward/center Devontae Cacok to an Exhibit-10 contract.

Maybe we can pick him up after we unload all these knicks and Diallo for Westbrook . But if Noel goes I’d rather pick up Cousins. Bassey can be a third string/ g league center, probably better than Check Diallo, equal but less exciting than Garza.

I think that we need to give him a long and hard look to see if he can make a firm impression on the defensive end. We give up penetration way too easily and it would be nice to force opposing players driving in out of the paint.

The Pistons already have two premiere shot blockers on the team.

Cade
Ivey
Bey
Stewart
Noel

Cade
Ivey
Bey
Stewart
Duren

Both of them are shot blockers, so the team never needs to have a small lineup on the floor. It is up to Casey to properly utilize his roster, and put both the players, and the team in a position to succeed.

If Casey starts the season with Stewart at the 5, and Bojan at the 4, its going to be more of the same, and a complete disaster. Casey does not react quickly to obvious problems, so the team will have to have a horrific start, to change course.

He is going to bend to the pressure of veterans, and start players who "deserve it" based purely off of years played, or loyalties, not basketball related reasons.

I beginning to think, knowing how Casey coaches, this team is going to have a wretched record again. I'm starting to accept that now.
