Prediction Time

Post#1 » by NYPiston » Mon Oct 17, 2022 1:33 pm

Ok boys, time to nut up or shut up. Time to separate the Nostradumbasses from the Nostradamuses.
Lets see those predictions. Give a leaguewide prediction, regular season standings and champ and what record you think the Pistons finish with.

Mine....

East
1) Milwaukee
2) Boston
3) Philly
4) Toronto (My surprise team)
5) Nets
6) Miami

7) Atlanta
8) Cleveland
9) Knicks
10) Chicago

11) Charlotte
12) Washington
13) Indiana
14) Orlando
15) Detroit (28-54)

East Champ - Milwaukee

West
1) Memphis
2) Denver
3) Clippers
4) Phoenix
5) Golden State
6) Dallas

7) Lakers (I think they'll be better than people think. Taking a leap thinking that AD will play most games and with something to prove)
8) Minnesota
9) New Orleans
10) Sacramento (My western surprise team)

11) Portland

And this is where the REAL battle will be, along with Orlando, Detroit and Indiana from the east...

12) San Antonio
13) OKC
14) Houston
15) Utah

The west was really tough to predict. It's a bloodbath at the top, and at the bottom.

Western Champ - Clippers
NBA Champ - Milwaukee and Giannis wins regular season and Finals MVP

Bonus prediction - Spurs win the Wemby Sweepstakes. The Spurs are French Magnets. Pistons finish with the 4th worst record and draft 6th.

Nostradumbasses. I like it.

I will take the "shut up" option since I don't follow the league anywhere near closely enough to make an educated prediction on just the EC, much less the whole league.

I can give a prediction after the first 10 games.
That will tell us if they're going to get a very good lottery pick or just make the playoffs.
Defence Wins Championships,we need to return to the Bad Boy era.

Pthh. Playoffs my butt. Way too young, way too many minutes for guys that don’t know what they’re doing.

And that’s fine. But it’s looking like 20’s again, especially if we give Ivey and Duren the minutes they need to develop. As long as the attitude stays good, I have no problem with 26 wins and a decent shot at VW or Scoot.

The FO and Casey can talk all they want about earning minutes and playing to win, but we’re insanely young in terms of rotation players. Saddiq Bey at 23 would be close to the young guy on some rosters. We have FIVE rotation players considerably younger than him (as in 21 or younger) and another two only a bit older. That’s EIGHT guys 24 or under, not counting scrubs or Diallo. There’s gonna be a lot of poor play at times.

It takes more effort than I'm willing to put in.
