Casey is now 10-1 to be fired only behind Nash (3-1) and Doc (2-1).

These games could prove to be pivotal.

I'm still convinced hes doing the exact job Weaver hired him to do. Hopefully this year is the end of the tanks(pretending to try to win)

The guys have to play hard. Casey needs to sub a guy who isn't giving it his all.

I actually am surprised people aren't more excited about that. It really looks to me like we made out like bandits in that last draft. And that's really one of the most important things I was looking for at the start of the season.

That said, our sophomores and third year players aren't fairing as well. It's early but folks had to have hoped for better starts from Cade, Saddiq, and Stewart. And Killian? Guy doesn't look long for the league. I realize we still probably have folks prepared to die on this hill, but I can't really see why at this point.

Casey will make it through the season, but a missed playoff especially another very bad season and he will be "retired" to the FO.

Becky Hammond come on down. I used to want Juwan Howard, but he's a bit off his nut and probably won't leave UM for a couple more years.

Ok ive got my emotions in check since that horrific nightmare we watched last night, time to feel the same thing tonight.

Hopefully when the team is ready to compete, they can poach Chauncey from Portland. He’s always be a great leader, he connects with the players, he’s a true Piston and he’s starting to prove himself as a coach.

I feel you! The rookies early success is enough for me. Cade showed enough of a sustained run last year that I can attribute his up and down start to him learning to play at full speed with the additional weight. Bey, Stewart & Livers have shown enough that I’m willing to be patient.

I’m just tired of Killian. Seeing his lackluster play keeps reminding me of his horrible $7M option that was picked up next season and the superior players that were drafted after him. I don’t know why they don’t just send him to the G-League to develop, gain confidence and play against players at his level. That’s pretty much his only shot at this point.

Rebuilding is just a process of sorting through draft hits and busts. I think we have enough positives to enjoy the development of this season.

When there’s Burks & Bagley with less Killian & Knox, I’ll be thrilled.

I was thinking Darvin Ham. I think he would have been a better fit for a young team like ours, not a win-now Lebron team. I'd love Chauncey. Basically, I like Pistons being back here. I hope Weaver is here for a long time (it would mean he's doing something right!) but if someone has to replace him, I hope it's Isiah Thomas - great eye for talent, and wouldn't be working for a dysfunctional ownership group with James Dolan. I think him being on NBATV, watching the games, he's always mentioning the things others don't notice, and YouTube commenters say the same thing.

I always wanted Bill Laimbeer, but I don't think Detroit can hire another white coach again. Unless they're grandfathered in like Pop, they'll be the first to lose the player's respect and subsequently, the locker room. Black players probably want to play for black coaches.

Agreed on it all. At some point I needed to call it on Killian. I really wanted to believe he'd put it together; especially after his past preseason game. But he's been straight terrible.

I just don't think he has the right mentality to be successful in this league. Potential means nothing if you aren't willing to confidently assert yourself in determining a game's outcome. Killian just doesn't do this offensively. Nothing feels instinctual w/regards to shot creation. Everything is forced.

I should have learned from Kennard. Fool me twice, shame on me.

Yeah, that's the current thing apparently. I was browsing YouTube, and the cesspool that is shorts, and had someone yelling that Wakanda is for us, not white people or some crap. I mean just today.

It's sad as hell out there right now. It seems to be funneling down to the younger generation.

In any event, you replace Casey with best available coach, not one that checks a box based on something other then skill, and I trust Weaver to do just that. He's got a vision, and so far, he's delivered.

Casey wasn't his hire, so going by what he's done thus far, its only a matter of time. I really like Kenny Atkinson. He has been an assistant under some damn good coaches, and has learned some schemes. Trust me, Billups is going to be a good coach, but his resume so far is a little thin.

Kenny also has helped coach a great guard duo in Curry/Thompson, and probably would have some badass plays ready to go.

I'm pretty content now though. I've accepted that this is going to be a tumultuous season. I hoped it would be smoother, but with how the team is playing, and how lost they look at times, I know that no matter what, Casey is gone by the start of next year, unless things all of a sudden click. I have sincere doubts, but hey, anything possible I guess.

Will this be a big time bounce back game for us? Or more of the same? I'd take a L here tonight if it means we'll get the W when we play the Hawks again in two nights at LCA.

Let's say they fired Casey and Laimbeer was on the list. You know he would get full consideration and not some token interview. And I don't think it's necessarily that young black men want to play for black coaches only as much as they want to be related to, connected with. I never thought SVG was any good, but Kerr clearly is. Lue is good at that. Does having the same background help to relate to someone? Of course. Is it the determining factor to whether or not someone gets hired in the NBA?

Of course not. There would be a lot more black coaches and GMs in the NBA if it was.

Bill Laimbeer not coaching in the NBA has nothing to do with race. Half the NBA coaches are white. He's just burned bridges with a ton of NBA people.

Anyway, he's 65 now, so he's well past the point where he could be considered an up-and-comer that you might take a flier on.

I expect to be down by 20 at the half honestly.

The team starts with the #1OA pick Cade and he isn't playing any better than some random guy off a decent team. Thats not going to get it done.

The Bey/Bojan/Stewart lineup is an embarrassment.

The list goes on.

I tune in a little with the sound off, usually I look up and its a Pistons TO or poor shot. I go back to what I was doing.

Basically. Some people drank the kool-aid early expecting us to fly right out of the gate with these young guys and thinking growth is linear or exponential

It's going to be a long tumultuous season that's filled with developmental opportunities. Any meaningful win(s) is an absolute bonus
