Jonathan Isaac???

Post#1 » by DET_Athletics » Sun Nov 13, 2022 5:15 am

The more I think about it the more I think we should try and go after him. If he can recover and just be half of what he was before going out this team would be one off-season away from really going deep in the east. Could you image staring him at the 3 and either winning the lottery and taking VW or going out in free agency and getting prozingis? Just don't know how much it would cost to get him away from Orlando...

Cade /Hayes / Vet min
Ivey / Draft pick
Issac / Bey / livers
Porzingis / Stewart
Duren / Bagley / Vet min

Would be one of the scariest teams in the east with it's length, depth and also age/window of competition.
What do you guys think?

I love the idea of getting Jonathan Isaac. If Bol Bol keeps playing well, it's possible he (Isaac) becomes available.

I haven't watched a ton of Isaac before, but isn't he more of a PF? I know he's slim and lanky, but does he have the foot speed to guard SFs on the perimeter?

Isaac yes, Zingler no. I said we should try to get Isaac last season. He would be a perfect fit, if he can still play, and yeah, Isaac is a 4 and can play small ball 5.

The best ability is availability. And Isaac has shown very little of that. Wouldn't be convinced to make a move unless he could prove he can play at least 50 games in a season.

"And I took that personally..." Yeah totally, he's about to be missing as many games as "The Tick" had seasons, guys useless.

Now this is very understandable, plus his whole stance on being vaccinated. I will say that he does sound like an intelligent dude, even tho I might not agree with all of his views.

I do remember seeing your post, I would try and keep him away from the 5 position, don't want him banging that much, especially when we got 5 people better built for it in duren, Bagley and Stewart.

Yes I agree, we should get him and play him at the 4 with either Bey or Bojan at the 3 and Stew or Duren at the 5.

Jonathan isaac is a nutjob. He's been spending his off time hanging out with real extremists. He's become a bit of a celebrity in that sphere. .He just spoke at the reawaken america tour earlier this year. It's an extremist group that has been spouting gems like this from the founder.

"On a June 2021 episode of The Stew Peters Show, he argued that the COVID-19 vaccine contained luceiferase, which he believed was a cryptocurrency technology associated with the Mark of the Beast prophesied in Revelation 13:16-18.[9] This conspiracy theory, according to Clark, included Bill Gates (under the influence of performance artist and alleged Satanist Marina Abramović), and Jeffrey Epstein. Clark accused Gates and Epstein of attempting to create a new race of humans by combining luciferase and Epstein's DNA into the COVID-19 vaccine."

So yeah, pretty hard pass on bringing that sort of circus to detroit.

Man what a mess I feel bad for what happened to Americans. As a healthcare provider I saw all this vaccine talk coming before it came out. Anyone in the healthcare field will tell you a vaccine wont cure or completely prevent a virus, this isn’t like the polio virus vaccine. It’s just like the flu. When you get flu vaccine can you get the flu? Yes! Covid isn’t any different. Well then what’s up with the mandates and the lies to the people? Americans are shook and I feel bad because they feel like the government is against them. Biggest problem of course is long term complications that cannot be studied.

The thing is, despite of not playing for 2+ years and having his issues off the court, the guy skill set is absolutely perfect for us.

He is still young. have great Size/Lenght, is a DPOY candidate, shoot average from 3, is a low usage player, is super athletic, provides rim protection. He shouldn't be super expensive (he has no place in Orlando with Wagner/Bol/Banchero), and his contract is unguaranteed.

Buy low candidate, insane ceiling, perfect piece. His impact could be similar to Evan Mobley in Cleveland. Of course there's a decent chance he wouldn't see the floor for us, so you don't pay a lot for a guy like that.

I heard there's a pit bull who can dribble a basketball that's available for adoption.

I guess Issac is the new Mo Bamba where this board will fascinate over him for years despite him never showing anything.
