Re: Pistons-Pelicans (8pm)
Great team defense win last night, with a little help for Bojan going nuts in the 2nd half.
We always seem to have trouble keeping that energy/fight/grit after a win its almost like the team starts feeling good about what its done and they let up a little bit. It'll be interesting to see if they can carry over the momentum of last night's game for this one.
I'm predicting a close hard fought loss in this one where we lose by single digits. The Pelicans had two nights off before this game so they will certainly be well rested. Jose Alvarado had 38 points off the bench for them in their last game (win over Nuggets) including 8-11 from deep. I'm excited to see how Stew can slow down a healthy Zion tonight. Stew is one of the few PFs in the league that comes close to matching Zion's strength. I think the guy that could really kill us is Jonas at the center spot who is also having a great season this year.

Pistons lose, and lose big in this one. I honestly don't see how they win. Besides that, I get to watch Herb Jones play, without switching to the Pelicans game, during a Pistons game this time.

This might be a game where Noel gets on the floor as our bigs get in foul trouble and wear out after last night's game. Definitely a challenge.

Well hell. That means the Pistons got an increased chance of winning this one. Small chance, but increased nonetheless.hsfolk wrote:zeebneeb wrote:Pistons lose, and lose big in this one. Re: Pistons-Pelicans (8pm)
the pelicans have been pretty dominant this season, even when they've been missing ingram and mccollum who are their two main play makers.
ingram is out today but i'm really looking forward to the zion vs. stewart matchup. stew is probably one of the few in the league who can put up some resistance strength-wise but obviously zion's explosiveness provides an extra challenge.
i say that but then remember this play from the preseason:

Alvarado is an exciting player to watch. Relentless defender. I'd love a guy like him on this team.

Damn, back to back for us on the road while they have been resting a couple days. Sounds fair, uh, yeah

Saddiq's decision making leaves a lot to be desired sometimes.

Bey just over lifted. He looks stiff. His flexibility seems horrible.

You'd never know from reading this thread so far that the Pistons are in this game.

Killian seems to be automatic from mid-range these days. So good to see.

Re: Pistons-Pelicans (8pm)
Hayes is such a good defender. Man I hope he keeps playing well, because he could be the complete package.
Man. Keep it up Killian!

Ivey has to be a better free throw shooter. Absolutely has to be because of his game.

Re: Pistons-Pelicans (8pm)
All of this predicated on the team not talking, and allowing Alvarado to get that steal.
No one told Hayes.

Re: Pistons-Pelicans (8pm)
Hayes hitting some shots, but also has started taking much more difficult shots in traffic. Feels like he needs to find the right balance and keep letting the shots come to him in the flow of the offense unless the shot clock is winding down keep looking to move the ball and get better looks for the team. Great start for him but those last few misses were all guarded and tougher shots.
