No point in really getting into the Stew/Bey/Killian extensions until we see how this season plays out for them, where we end up in the draft, and who we land with our $55 million in FA. Their extensions would be after we have a much better picture of what's going on.... I do like that question shortly after FA tho to try and figure out what we'd give, or rather what is too much and we'd be better off just letting them become RFAs the following year.

As far as Kuzma, goes, there won't be many above MLE deals for him. He likely gets a deal slightly above MLE from one of the lower tier teams like us, probably something similar to what Bagley got. Yes he is scoring 20 PPG and is an above average defender but he also is soon 28 and he isn't an efficient scorer.... you probably want a player like him shooting less than he does.

Cam Johnson on the other hand is a bit younger, also a solid defender... and is a very good three point shooter. I think he gets closer to 3 years $50 million or 4 years $70 million. I've got him ahead of someone like Kuzma for sure being younger and a much better shooter.... really one of the best shooters in the league.

Cam Reddish is likely a low $$$ player a team takes a flyer on... he almost certainly will be dealt before the trade deadline to one of the OKC, Detroit, Orlando, Spurs, Rockets, type teams that is tanking their way to the V Dub sweepstakes.... how he performs with that new team will likely really impact his next contract.

Out of that list, I like Cam Johnson.

Stew is the guy I want prioritized first. He's 3rd on the team in 3-pt shoot shooting. He works so hard, I know he'll improve, and now he's not being asked to play Center much. It's not his fault he's 6-8.

If Killian can do this consistently, he might not cost too much. We know we'll have injuries, and I'd rather Killian getting them as opposed to Cojo. If the Warriors really like him, maybe we trade him now? Bey is not a rare player, and he's not much of a 3-D guy which is what we thought. He's playing better obviously playing against 2nd unit guys, but if our guys develop, there won't be room to play, and I'd rather use our money on one guy, as opposed to a bunch of average players.

In 5 days, teams will be able to trade newly signed players - very excited.

You're right, I've messed with the extensions, as there's still almost a year to negotiate, and almost another to match any offer from another team in the FA.
At the moment, although everything changes very quickly, I'm really liking Stewart in the 4 as a 3&D.
Also the confidence that Kilian is gaining in attack, also being very reliable as a defender and assistant.
And Bey is in a slump at 3, but seems to be doing better off the bench, and confidently going to the basket.

I also like Cameron Johnson a lot more than Kyle Kuzma, he would fit perfectly in our young roster as an amazing 3&D. If it could be obtained for $4x70M it would be very good.

And Cam Reddish I think would be a low-cost bet, and would be a much better fit in Detroit than Thibodeau's Knicks.

I'd be surprised if Cam Johnson goes anywhere when he's a restricted free agent.

CP3 isn't fully guaranteed in his last season but I doubt they'd set him free. I also doubt he'd take a massive pay cut to stay there.

Do they trade Ayton to retain Cam? Or just pay whatever taxes are required to remain a "contender"?

They are actually in an ok spot to keep Cam at $18 million range and still fill out their roster with min salary guys and an MLE guy and just pay a small amount of luxury tax next year.... it is indeed the following year (24-25) where they'd pay a ton because Booker's bump to $50+ million kicks in. That is the year were they could waive CP3 and pay just $15 million instead of $30 million... but it'd be more like a $45 million savings overall at least when factoring in luxury tax. Although Paul is still decent this year and maybe ok nexr year I very much doubt they'll bring him back for that final year considering the luxury tax implications and the fact that he will be 39 that season.
