40% from deep on 5 attempts per game (2-5) really opens up the offense and keeps a big defender having to stick with Stew. I actually thought he'd be mostly pick and pop but he's been just standing in the corner at times and spacing the floor while Duren sets the screen up top and he's been making the defense pay for sagging off him. It does still feel like he gets a lot of open looks... not sure if that's a result of our offense or lack of defense giving him respect out there up to this point but I'm sure eventually teams will have to stop sagging off him as much and that should open up the penetration/inside game even more.

He actually started this seaosn really struggling from three and also struggling a bit more defensively but I think it was just getting used to the new faces, as well as Bey/Bojan/Ivey/Cade being our 4 worst defenders and all starting with him. He's been much better of late on defense as well playing with Duren and Hayes in the starting lineup with him.

What's really exciting for me to see is when he has been putting the ball on the floor after getting run off the 3 point line he's been fairly good.. It's still a bit of a work in progress (he traveled once a few games ago doing it) but he has shown much more ability in this area than we've seen the last few seasons and it certainly is yet another reason to be excited that he might not just be a "3 and D" PF but potentially has more growth like we saw with Jerami Grant over several NBA seasons.

It’d be really exciting if this roster gets to the point (post Bogie) where Cade is the fifth best defender in the starting lineup, especially since I fully expect him to improve a lot on that end still, so that could mean we become a really strong defensive team.

At the very least Cade should be as good a defender as current Booker who was one of the worst defenders in the league his first few years. They have similar physical tools and we just need a good scheme/effort from Cade.

Of all the players right now that are close to untradeable, it's Stew. At his position, what he's doing is rare, and he's on a rookie deal.

I think this is the Bojan effect. Because his machanics have changed up a bit to where he's not being the ball down at all on catch and shots and his shot is looking like Bojan.

Stewart would have to fetch a very pretty penny, and there's likely no such deal out there. With his passing, driving, and shooting all improving it's hard to envision wanting to move him at this point. Further, he's a great teammate and very coachable. If he keeps going the way he is I'm hoping he sticks around for quite a while.

If he can keep this up, that really opens thing up for him and the team. He's obviously undersized at the 5, so being able to space the floor well enough to play 4 consistently would be huge.

Plus he’s got that dog in him. He’s the type of hard working, uber competitive guy you want longterm as a culture setter. After that dust up with Lebron last year, I feel like he should be a Piston lifer.

If Stewarts offense becomes as good as his defense, well, he has all-star appearances ahead of him.

The things he was doing in that last game, is everything you want out of a PF. I mean, damn.

I said when we drafted he had potential to shoot the 3 ball. He showed signs of it when i would watch him at Washington.

37.5% on 4.2 per game - he has been really good, more so than I ever thought he would be.

Originally I had him closer to 15 ppg, but then we traded for Bojan outa the blue. He might still get there later in the season, but the %'s are about what I predicted. I said 38+% on 4-6 3pt attempts per game.

I'd guess he eventually plateaus around 16-18 ppg, but as stretch 4 who hustles and can switch everything defensively. Dude is absolute gold. In 2 years everybody will want a BeefStew. You're not running your offense through him or anything, but he'll be an elite 3rd/4th option.

Cow’s not the only one. Still my favorite non-Cade Piston, with Duren third.

I'm happy but still in wait and see mode.

Seems like Duren/Stewart does work, but the Pistons need a do it all SF like Paul George or something to go with Cade and a SG (maybe a more traditional SG than Ivey).
