Let's give the kid a chance to remove 4 layers of rust before being judge and jury. It might help sending him to the G League during the AS break.

For some reason I think he’s gonna breakout here every warriors game I watch that he played in he had a good game he just didn’t fit that system we got a steal with him I just hate we gave up Bey

He's got a shot to be better than Duren. I think we just need to keep an open mind and see how he does with a bigger role.

SVG was the problem that's the only reason why SJ didn't break out. Casey is awful, if it wasn't by him Killian Hayes would be an all star.
Stop blaming everyone but the player. Wiseman is 21, had a lot of opportunities and he failed. Duren is 19 and he is good. The roster is awful, our starting center is not the issue.
I hope Wiseman become an all star playing for us, but it's very unlikely, he have a lot of red flags, and those are HIS OWN FAULT, not the system, the coach, or anyone else, that's on him.
He was a disaster playing for the GLeague team. If he ever become an adequate 18 mpg backup that will be a huge win for us, it's very likely he will be out of the league in 2 more years.

Wiseman only played a few college games and was injured all of last year...I'm not saying he hasn't been given an opportunity, just that he might not have been ready to contribute either.

Doubtful. Duren is over two years younger and already more fundamentally sound.

I'll keep an open mind. There's evidence that suggests he'll do much better in a pick and roll offense. There's not much reason to watch a Pistons basketball game right now, so this is...something.

This deal going through by the way means Pistons can sign someone off the waiver wire. RJ Hampton anyone? Orlando's trash a Pistons treasure?

Now that he’s on the team, I’m hoping he breaks out. As for now, he’s not even at durens level.
Ideally he becomes a decent shot blocker and finisher around the rim so when duren sits there’s not much of a drop off.

Let's hope he show something, but right now he is not even on Bagley's level, and Bagley should not be getting minutes even if he was health.
Waste of cap space next season.
12 mil wasted on Wiseman
12 mil wasted on Bagley
7 mil wasted on Killian Hayes
3 mil wasted on Dedmon

Top end talent wins in the NBA for sure. Paying end of rotation or borderline rotation bench players $10+ million is rarely a good idea unless you're already a good team with 5 good starters.
If you could trade Wiseman + Bagley + Hayes for Porzingas that's probably a trade you have to make... and its a trade that we could have made just by not paying those guys and using the $30 million in cap space on Porzingas.
Using that $30 million on one really good starter that's a borderline all-star is almost certainly going to be a better use of that cap space than having it be sunk into your 8th/9th/10th guys in your rotation.

Don’t forget DeAndre Jordan. Luckily his $7.8 million dead cap hold this season is the last year he’s on our cap….

Grab a drink, watch the Super Bowl, relax.
These players are just auditioning to be the supporting cast around Cade and Wembenyama. By the time we’re truly contending, no of this will matter.

Which is why I wanted Ayton.

Would prefer Ayton over Zingus at that price...
I wonder if we offered Ayton the full Max after drafting Duren do we retain Bagley at all? Or at his current price?
At least Wiseman & Hayes are still on rookie scale deals - Bagley isn't and given his health issues and our depth at the 4/5 he's 3rd string at best next season:
Duren - Wiseman - Bagley
Stewart - Bojan - Bagley
And if we draft Wemby Bagley gets buried deeper on the pine...
Maybe we can include him as salary filler in a trade but that's doubtful given he's only 1 year into his new deal

The fact that some of the worst analysts on this board are so critical of Weaver gives me confidence that he's making the right moves.
