Omari Sanfoka II: Marvin Bagley III went through most of practice today, Dwane Casey said. He’s close to returning

It'll certainly be interesting to see how Casey manages minutes for Stew/Duren/Bagley/Wiseman when they all are healthy. Will they all get 22-26 MPG and be pretty even or is someone going to be short changed out of that foursome.

I can't wait to watch tonight's game. I feel like I'm in an abusive relationship.

For a rebuilding team, this really is the worse part of the season. The trade deadline is gone, so there are no hopes of much change. The draft lottery is still months away, so we can't even argue too much about who to draft. Our best player is still on the sidelines, so even "play all the young guys" isn't that much fun. The only real suspense is in whether wiseman can resurrect his carrier.

I'm not sure it would be worse than any other part of the year. The big issue is that Cade is out. The trade deadline was worth some discussion but it sure didn't generate any interest in the actual games which is really all there is.
Player development was always going to be more interesting than potential trades for us- but the most interesting player on the team in that regard has been out for a very long time now.

One day closer to when "Cocaine Bear" hits the theaters. That's how I look at it.

I've done that now for several years. I'll start out watching, and as soon as there's a speedbump, I'm out, and I switch to a different game.
I'll check the game thread, which these days is like walking into a desert, to see if I should flip back.
Tonight im watching for Wiseman, Duren, and Ivey. I'm hoping to see Wiseman and Duren start together, as I wonder if it could work.

I watch maybe half of the games these days. I tend to stick it out when I start one. But I won't be starting this one.
I dunno about interest level, but the actual act of watching these games is particularly difficult this time of year. Not because the games are any worse than they are at any other time of the year, but because by this point, sadly, I'm fully into the mindset of NOT wanting us to win.
So it's a lose lose if you watch. The team playing badly isnt fun to watch. And I can't even enjoy watching them win because I keep going through the math and thinking about how it impacts our lottery odds.

on top of our team i'll also be watching for banchero and wagner, i really like their potential in the league.

it's crazy how much of a difference cade makes to the team. this time last season we were still one the of worst teams in the league but there was energy and excitement down the stretch as cade led the team close to playing .500 ball. the vibes this season are completely different, i really hope that cade recovers from his surgery and returns to form because more seasons like this one just straight up won't be fun.

it's kind of crazy to think that a 2-game win streak makes a big difference but charlotte winning their last two games puts a bit of a gap between them and us, the spurs and the rockets. we still have to play houston once and charlotte twice, but it's nice to know that the odds of us dropping out of the top 5 (which is a super depressing outcome given how the season has shaken out) have lessened.

I don’t really see it as a different vibe, just as you said the team is missing it’s leader and arguably best player. I think for the most part they’re playing hard; they’re just a young team that’s still learning/developing and without their leader/arguably best player. That’s not as big a deal on a veteran team but I think it certainly is for this team.

Gluttony for punishment? I am definitely more in the zeebneb camp where I may start the game or more likely, watch if I see a positive score. The moment a lack of effort or a string of dumb turnovers happen, I'm out.
To be even more brutally honest, I'm ready for the playoffs where I can't even be tempted to watch a Pistons game and can enjoy some great competition. You never know, but one can hope that almost every series will be great this year with just the sheer amount of teams that believe that they can win it all.

According to JEdwards, Hampton isn’t playing tonight because he hasn’t officially signed yet….

Woodward sports had a vid headline for their segment on YT, "How can the Pistons finish strong?" Are they kidding with this? We don't want them to finish strong, the f4ont office wants the worst record in the league if they can get it, and they are right for wanting that. Woodward wanting to finish strong and take us out of the running for a generational talent, are they kidding with this?
