Ok, so we finally bring in a small forward. Thought for sure we would fill out the roster with another center.....

Kind of an odd signing. Somewhat heavy smaller SF without much three point success. Good rotation player for the tank though.

OKC just signed him to an NBA contract before waiving him, giving him a slice of NBA salary for a bit. They must have had a reason to do him that favor.

We all knew the tank was on when 4 starters missed the game a few days ago, but when the team starts signing 10-day guys, it's gotten serious.

I believe we are heading into the "foot soreness" and "illness" portion of a Pistons season.

Hopefully we get a few more watchable games before it goes full blast, but we'll see.

I’m scared to watch the game against the rockets on March 31st. It’s the 6th last game of the year and the spurs are putting some wins together recently so it might just be a race to the bottom with us and Houston.

It’d be a miracle if guys like bojan and burks weren’t shut down by that point.

Also I think we have a roster spot open with the Noel buyout so I hope Omoruyi gets a full deal for no other reason than it’d be good for his career.

Picking 5th v 6th doesn't matter and bottom three all have same odds.

Just a small thing but he actually has really good active hands on defense, gets a decent amount of deflections and steals. Ceiling would be a pj tucker type of player once his 3 pointer gets more reliable. I dont hate the pickup as it hopefully means less mcgruder playing ^^

Haha. I can totally picture Casey in his post-game presser: "Yeah, he wanted to go but his belly was really really hurting tonight."

Guessing he is just here for spot minutes given both Bogey and Livers have been dealing with injury issues. Seems like a decent perimeter defender although no long range shot to speak of.

Yep, we're definitely looking to turn the season around with this signing. We can still squeak into the playoffs and the Omoruyi signing shows we plan on making some major noise once we get in.
Tom Gores' Securus faced a class action lawsuit in 2024. The company engaged in a "quid pro quo kickback scheme" with county jails in Michigan which banned in-person visits in order to maximize revenue from voice and video calls.

Certainly one of your more interesting takes. He’s not really that skilled offensively. Solid defensive skills, still attempting to develop successful 3 point range. Basically a role player type you take a look at during the end of the season.

But with all that said, it’s a ten day contract. You’re basically bringing him in to practice with the team and then see if he’s worth another ten day contract.

Not to mention he just turned 26 and he barely has any professional game experience. Like 25 games in the NBA and something like 10 or so at the G League level. Almost two seasons as a two way contract player for two different teams, seems more like teams like having him go up against their guys in practice. While just hoping he develops some solid skills.

So like Hampton, an ideal player to take a look at for the end of the season, but not a player really putting too much value in.

You’re basically just hoping they figure it out and if they don’t you move on without much investment.

He has been solid, but it also goes to show just how little of difference there is out there between bench talent in the NBA. You have a guy like Trey Lyles making $2.5 million per year and he's been a solid and efficient 16 MPG bench player for the #2 seed in the West Kings this year. It's why its crazy to give end up rotation players big money contracts. You need to take your cap space and spend on a few good starting level players and then you can fill out the bench with guys on rookie contracts and smaller deals. We've seemingly been spending the wrong way with some of our decisions the last two years.... i know part of it is we are spending on younger guys and banking still on their youth and potential growth, but if you don't get that its a disaster versus just getting good minutes from a lower $$$ bench unit.

My image of bstein14's home has all of its walls covered with chalk scribbles lamenting that Bagley's contract is too big.

We know this. We ALL know this. Yet there is only one person who continues to bring up this point in every thread.

The rest of this acknowledged this fact once at the time the contract was signed and probably once or twice in passing in various conversations and then moved on with our lives.

Like when you go out on a date do you bring up Marvin Bagley's contract as a point if conversation? Inquiring minds want to know.
