These games should be purposed as an extended offseason training camp for young guys to work on different facets of their game.

i.e. results don't matter. Missing shots doesn't matter. Looking bad doesn't matter. Just skill development.

No reason to do anything else. None.

No Giannis tonight. No Holiday tonight. Bucks lost their last game by 23.

Nonetheless, the Bucks are 13 point favorites tonight @ Detroit.

So humiliating.

I'll watch the game if Bally can keep their feed on the air. Can't worry about getting wins at this point. At this point the ideal game for the Pistons is a spirited, competitive loss. The only available win is having draft pick #5 as their floor.

to whom?

to Fans?
If you are somehow suffer humiliation due to your sports team underperforming then you should seriously consider a different sport.
Also it should be blatantly obvious that we are prioritizing other things besides winning games at this point. If you are still somehow humiliated by losing outcomes or projected losses then I think you need to reevaluate your ability to comprehend the world around you.

to the Players?
The players likewise know what is going on. Will whoever is on the court try to play hard? Sure. They are professionals. But if you think these players are losing sleep over being projected to lose at this stage of the season I don't know what to tell you. It's simply not worth the energy to worry about outcomes that by and large at this point are out of your control.

This post smells like just another attempt to rant because grr... anger.. grr...

We honestly need a thread topic somewhere so that posters can choose to just irrationally rant about whatever they feel like without needing or wanting to do any critical thinking whatsoever about the situation they are complaining about. Maybe if such a topic exists then a lot of these other threads would have better discussion. Hah! Who am I kidding????

With the extremely low number of posters left here at the Detroit board in which to have discussions with, attempting to make some of the remaining few feel bad because they view games differently then you, or have a deeper connection to the team, is pretty **** up.

I've been watching for over 30 years, and you know what? It is humiliating sometimes to watch this "product" the team is trotting out on the floor. Its a similar reaction some people might have when they watch Michael Scott be a jackass on the Office.

Want to judge me for feeling a certain way when I watch a game? Go right ahead, but I comprehend the world around me just fine.

Giannis (and Holiday) is OUT, and so is Embiid --- was looking forward to see him play against Jokic.. And the game on NBA TV will feature a Doncic-less (16th tech) Mavs.

CORRECTION: The tech was rescinded. It was pretty weak, but he's gotta stop complaining.

Someone on the general board was saying Embiid has missed five of Philly's last six games in Denver. Hm.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

Not unusual for a fan to say they are embarassed by their home team. But you go off on this pretty innocuous comment for several paragraphs. I'd say we need a thread for people who want to derail and take us down rabbit holes like this.

I am excited for the playoffs. A small part of that excitement is simply that the Pistons will no longer be playing. I still might get depressed when Casey isn't fired or "promoted" to a meaningless office job, but at least the 0 for 8 Killian Hayes shot chart or the 52-39 rebounding disadvantage with Pistons playing two centers 48 minutes won't be there.

If it were a one-off innocuous comment then I'd agree wholeheartedly with you. But it's not. It's a pattern of behavior on these boards; this poster being one of the common ones.

What did I say specifically that is going down a rabbit hole? I stated that the team doesn't have an intention to win ballgames. I stated that this is obvious to fans and to the players alike?

Given that the above are obvious to be continuously lamenting the fact that they are losing accomplishes zero. Does it suck that the team isn't competitive? Sure. But what exactly do you accomplish by coming to these forums and complaining about that fact day in and day out?

Wiseman keeps after man. Say what you will about him, but he tries to smash everything.

Its refreshing having bigmen that try and destroy the rim after so many years of Drummond and his ballerina ball.

In my mind, every minute I watch Cojo on the floor, is a minute closer Casey is to getting fired so I'm torn.

As a backup PG playing like a backup PG and getting paid backup PG money, he's hardly the worst our team has to offer.

He dribbles the air out of the ball, won't be with the team next year, and is a shell of his former shell of an actual NBA player.

I fixed the problem of having to watch him by switching to the Rockets/Knicks game anyway.

I wasn't attempting to judge you specifically. Apologies if you took it that way.

I will say though that one of the possible reasons for fewer folks being on the board might very well be all of the negativity? I mean who wants to read through all of that stuff; all of the time.

You are your own man. So you can choose to be more emotionally attached. But the team is 16-58. Given that I don't see that working very well for you for the remaining games of the season.
