Battle of the tanks tonight!

@ Houston
@ Orlando
vs. Miami
vs. Brooklyn
@ Indy
@ Chicago

I'd still like to see the young guys get another W or 2 to finish out the season. Worst case we tie with Houston.

Worst case is we tie Houston, they win the tie breaker on a draw, then we drop to 6th...

Yes and for that to happen, all the bottom 3 teams need to get a top 4 pick which hasn't happened yet.... you'd have to have the top four picks go to teams like Charlotte, Orlando, Portland, Indy for the 2nd worst team to draft 6th.

If we finish 2nd we have a 1/5 chance to finish 6th in the lottery

Correct, and since the new NBA lottery odds have started back in 2019 never has the team that has finished 2nd drafted 6th.... but there is a 20% chance it happens.... but for it to happen you'd need four "better" teams to all jump into the top four and the worst and 2nd worst teams to get unlikely and end up picking 5th and 6th.

#5 Ivey or #6 Mathurin
#5 Suggs or #6 Giddey
#5 Okoro or #6 Okongwu

I don't see much difference currently between 5 and 6.... There certainly isn't a top 5 that stand out in this draft(like perhaps tehre was in 2021 even though Barnes ended up busting into the top four in that draft anyways when he wasn't part of the original top 5 most people saw as locks).

#6 >>> #5

If we stay #5 we should trade #5 and a future 1st for #6

Ivey is better than Mathurin, anyway.

It's entirely possible (and maybe even likely) that you get the same player you want at #5 with the 6th pick. If the Pistons have a draft board with their top 5, its likely one of those guys will be there at #6 IMO. You could say the same thing about the last draft... if the Pistons had the #4 pick its probably fairly likely they still take Ivey at #4 and just end up having to pay him a little extra each year.

To be a hater for just a moment, I just don't see any realistic scenario where Hayes is getting more than fifteen minutes a night off the bench next year. He's just not a starter in this league and it means every minute he plays not against bench players, Pistons mostly get outplayed. While I've had fun seeing Ivey command the game more, I also want to see Ivey with some real teammates out there with a balanced roster.

I really, really like this Omoruyi guy. He does it all, and plays hard.

Man what a random find.

Why even chance it at all? I'll take a zero percent chance of falling below 5th, thank you. We have tanked hard all year, no need not to finish it off assured of top 5.

So in 4 years something has never happened? It’s not about what needs to happen like a game being played and a result. It’s legit statistics. Pure lottery odds.of course there’s always better players down the draft. Maybe we can trade 5 or 6 for a bunch of picks and aim for Jokic or Giannis. Or we can take advantage of every inch of an advantage we can get and guarantee a pick higher floor. Not risk our guy being off the board at 5 and picking someone we like less at 6.

After what he did after our loss to OKC, I don't care how he does on the court, I want his ass out of our locker room asap and a lot of people should follow him to be honest, but what he did is unacceptable

Granted it’s Houston, but Ivey looks more in control now than what I seen earlier in year, good sign, just still needs to control emotions at times, hopefully that comes with maturity

The tank rolls on.

Bagley with a nice night on offense but just 1 rebound in 31 minutes of play is insane.

Well, that's it. Pistons have all but locked up the worst record in the league, and unless a miracle happens, should end up being the worst Pistons team in franchise history.

Good and bad I guess. Hopefully they land VW, or this nightmare of a season may have been for nothing.
